Because of my traveling in the last bunch of weeks, I've missed a lot of shows. I'm listening to the June 1st show now, and catch June 2 and 3 this afternoon and tomorrow.

Hopefully, I should be around more for shows in the next few days.

Villian? Hmmm. Was he really a villian though?

I tend to think that both the Bride and Bill were one and the same, a merc/assassin for hire. There job is neither good nor evil. Could have saved many lives by taking out one person, may have caused major pain also.

Well, he was clearly the antagonist of the movies, and I would call them both "villains" in the broad sense.

Also, saying an assassin for hire is neither good nor evil is wrong if you consider murder to be wrong.

My point, not well explained, is that for Kill Bill, LOTR and Harry Potter, the first movie was never meant to be a standalone movie. The story being told is all the movies together.

Now Kill Bill was supposed to be one movie (and LOTR and Harry Potter were not), but they were each telling only long story. So I would say similar to Kill Bill 2, LOTR 2 & 3 and the other Potter movies aren't true sequels.

I don't know if I would call that the original. Technically, you're right in that it was the original movie called Casino Royale. However, I consider the original to be the book which wasn't campy.

When the Bond series started, they decided to not do Royale and go to Dr. No. Later, someone essentially got the Royale rights and made a parody of James Bond.

Godfather III is already a very slow 170 minutes long. Now add 10-20 minutes of flashbacks and you're over 3 hours long for a slow, pointless tale of failed redemption of a bad person.

Let's face it, Godfather 3 is a disaster however you slice it.

That worked for the Hulk because the Hulk backstory is pretty recognizable from television/comics, etc., although each backstory has some minor differences. You could show quick flashback images because our culture has a history with the character.

If there was no Godfather I and II, no one would have had history with Michael and showing the backstory in flashback scenes would be horrendous, especially since the story in the flashback scenes are more interesting than the Godfather III story.
