I've seen Silence of the Lambs many times, and there is one particular thing that keeps bugging me(no pun intended). When Lechter is wheeled in, strapped in and masked-surrounded by guards, we see him "eye" the ballpoint pen(it belongs to his psychiatrist). We know he gets a hold of it, but HOW? When would he have had access to it, or any pen? He escapes by hiding the thin, metal clasp in his mouthand later picking the handcuffs lock with it. Is this "artistic license", and we are just supposed to BELIEVE that Lechter grabbed it? Do I keep missing something that an earlier scene may have alluded to? Does ANYONE KNOW? It's Sunday, and I'm craving Chianti. C'MON THEORISTS? Thanks, Q

Well it's because the handcuffs were faulty. Otherwise how come he had to chop off his hand in Hannibal to escape from Handcuffs in a room full of possible lock picking gear.

Jedi Mind Trick, of course. I am not the proper British one handed man you're looking for. Snootch.
