Saw this article and thought it is a scumbag move by the bank:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090802/ap_on_fe_st/us_odd_robbery_teller

We live in a world where lawyers run everything. Bet the bank thought if they did not fire this man, others might try and might either get hurt or killed and then the familes would sue. A person does a heroic thing and gets punished for it. Just does not seam right.

What do you think?

Nicholson said he has run after shoplifters while working at other retail jobs.

"It's something I almost look forward to. It's a thrill and I'm an adrenaline-junkie person. It's the pursuit," he said.

the bank teller seems to have read one too many comicbooks;

he got lucky this time, but what would have happened if the robber really did have a weapon?

he could very easily gotten someone hurt or killed with his illusions of heroics

I agree. He saved the bank a drop in the bucket, but put other customers at risk, dumb.

I understand where you are coming from. Yes it is only money and it is the banks money, but I just don't think he really risk anyone else, besides himself. Maybe a little stupid for risking his life. I think the point that bothers me no one got hurt and nothing really happened. And they still fire him. Maybe the bank was worried the robber would sue them for assault from a employee. Like I said before, the bank does not want other employees to do what he did.

Just thought it was scummy. A person stands up and protects himself and he gets punished. No wonder this world just sucks....well to some point.

If the guy did have a gun and pulled it out while the teller was lunging at him everyone in the building is in danger from crossfire. He put a lot of people in danger. I feel for the guy but it was a stupid, dangerous thing to do.

But no one did and he did not have a gun. Make him do some bullshit training, demote him, but fire him. I wish I had the balls to do what he did..then I also wish I never have to.

If people cared a little less about getting hurt and more about standing up to "dangerous" people there might be a little less crime in the world.
