Fez Is Right (A Public Apology)

For quite some time now most of us have been under the impression that our dear Mr. Whatley had lost his mind and East Side Dave was some kind of savior, coming to the rescue to fill up mic time because Fez was unable to perform.

Recently, however, Fez has theorized that Dave has been subtly planting this idea in everyone's head, all the while intending to usurp the throne and sit at the right hand of Ron. (Actually, Fez sits to Ron's left, but still...)

Again, most of us took this as further evidence of Fezzie's lunacy, myself included.

Well, I'm here to say I was wrong. I'm now convinced that Fez is 100% correct in his assumption that Dave isn't the knight in shining armor he's portrayed himself to be but rather a backstabber of epic proportions.

I recall one thing that really irked Fez last week was Dave muttering insults and putdowns under his breath instead of saying them out loud. Everyone thought the Big Cat was paranoid. Today when I called the show, however, Dave waited until I hung up to murmur a few critical comments about my former band and my guitar playing.

I now see how Dave operates and how he repays loyalty. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

If Dave is lying about that, what else is he not telling the truth about? I was on Dave's side until I heard Fez mention that Casey was posting her medical bills online. If Dave's wife is trying to garner sympathy regarding Sirius's medical insurance not taking care of their maternity bills, I think she is putting the show at risk for disciplinary action from the Sirius suits which in turn could lead to, not only less medical assistance but also less income for Dave (unless he is eligible for a severance package in the event of his termination) . It doesn't undermine Fez, but it could put Fez, who is supposedly the executive producer or the show, at risk of having to apologize to the bosses.

Casey cannot dime-out Sirius's Medical Insurance on the net and claim immunity from being called out on the air by Sirius employees. And Dave cannot make jokes about his wife keeping him on a leash and his wife putting pressure on him to help with the kids after a hard days work without inviting comments about Casey on-air and online.

I still cannot get over how Dave shrugs off people calling his daughter retarded but gets all in a huff about his wife being called lazy or an Internet addict (neither are particularly insulting compared to being called retarded). The real problem is people trying to be Fez's friend, instead of helping Fez. Maybe Ron doesn't want to put in the effort, maybe he enjoys the show with a less involved Fez, maybe he is trying to help Fez without bringing it to the air.
But, babying Fez, what RF.net did for a long time before it became "so negative", is not part of solving Fez's problems.

What will it take to get Fez back involved in the show? What will it take to get Fez to focus on the show and not on whether he is sliding off his seat?

For quite some time now most of us have been under the impression that our dear Mr. Whatley had lost his mind and East Side Dave was some kind of savior, coming to the rescue to fill up mic time because Fez was unable to perform.

Recently, however, Fez has theorized that Dave has been subtly planting this idea in everyone's head, all the while intending to usurp the throne and sit at the right hand of Ron. (Actually, Fez sits to Ron's left, but still...)

Again, most of us took this as further evidence of Fezzie's lunacy, myself included.

Well, I'm here to say I was wrong. I'm now convinced that Fez is 100% correct in his assumption that Dave isn't the knight in shining armor he's portrayed himself to be but rather a backstabber of epic proportions.

I recall one thing that really irked Fez last week was Dave muttering insults and putdowns under his breath instead of saying them out loud. Everyone thought the Big Cat was paranoid. Today when I called the show, however, Dave waited until I hung up to murmur a few critical comments about my former band and my guitar playing.

I now see how Dave operates and how he repays loyalty. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I agree with Gvac. I am not going to repeat it here but if you read my post in the Too Much Drama thread, you'll understand why I am tired of all the Fez bashing.

Leave the man alone...I think half of Fez's problems are because of how he's treated by some asshole callers to the show. I think it's time some people grow up and use some common sense. The man is dealing with issues...yet some people choose to call and berate and attack Fez? That's a great help!
