Dave is arguably the most honest person on the show; sometimes to a fault. Whether it be eating his dad's cum, letting his dog lick his balls or some insight into his family life that is no one's business but theirs, he lays it all on the line.
However, when the discussion turns to one of two things: 1.) partying or 2.)hooking up with chicks in his past, I never seem to believe him. The details always seem loose and contrived compared to every other story relayed. For example, last week he was going on about how he would drink a fifth before going out just to get loose. Every single time he has had drink on the show, he is literally noticeably drunk within minutes. Then all of his acid exploits he was talking about today; namely taking four tabs on his first go at it? I find that hard to believe.
I know there may be some basis of truth to those stories, but he sounds just like Earl used to when asked about his past sexual encounters. I've noticed it in people in college and the workplace who seemed to have all these amazing experiences in the past, but never in the present or even current location.
It's just odd because he only seems to exaggerate stories in said contexts. It's like the new kid trying to impress the big, cool guy (Ron) and it comes off pathetic.
His honesty is his best virtue. It just saddens me to hear him try to be someone he's not.
Maybe I'm wrong though...
