So today I'm talking to someone at work who is a republican...and they tell me that "after we (republicans) kill health care, we are going to pass immigration legislation". I of course laughed and they seriously didn't understand why.

I have many republican friends, but I need to explain something to you: You lost the election. That means you don't control the agenda. You aren't in the majority. You lost. I know that you've controlled the course of this nation for 20 of the last 28 years...but you don't anymore.

Learn how to act in public and maybe you'll attract some new voters. Keep acting like THIS and you'll guarantee that your recent history repeats itself.

Actually, the GOP only really controlled the agenda since 1995. Before that the Democrats had 40 years of rule.

republicans too control of congress in 1994. and that was the first time they had contol since 1952!

1994-2000. that was the time of republican control of congress.
holding the white house doesn't mean as much as you think it does. Since the topic of this thread deals mostly with legislation, i would think you would focus on the legislative branch
