I'm sad to see this place implode, but people underestimate the importance of the personality of the person in charge. The fact everyone loves and respects Mikeyboy is a big part of why RnF.net survived so long. A lot of good stuff happened under this umbrella, I mean, how many gift's, fundraisers, and other fan work for the show happened for members.

It's a shame that the vibe is in question.

I think part of the issue is the fact the show throws people in the barrel on a pretty regular basis, we all remember Earl, Dave, Fez, Al Dukes all getting good beatings at one time or another. So, why can't the posters do the same? Well, the problem with the posters is that the stupid board posts stay forever..

I really liked listening to the show on PalTalk but that seemed to get strange too.

I just want to find a place where real fans hang out, something like a coffee shop where we can talk,laugh, cry and speculate without it sticking on the record forever. I would also love updates from Dave, Casey, HTG and the other great personalities from the show without them having to defend each and every word they say..

I'm a fan of the Ron & Fez radio show. I have never quite understood any need to be a fan of a fan, the need to post much on this message board or any other one, or even do the PalTalk thing. Nor have I ever had the desire to be a topic on the show.

Ronny B is at his best manipulating these puppets on the air. All of them. I just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of it all.

I do amuse myself from time to time by reading posts here, but even that is rare. Sure I would like to see this board stay around because there are a lot of good posters here who do make interesting threads and provide some entertainment. However if this place where to burn down like some people want, oh well, Ronny B and Fez would still have puppets somewhere to manipulate.

First, thanks to Mikeyboy for all of his work over the years. I have lurked for a long time, and I can appreciate the amount of effort it took to keep this place going.

I agree with some of the above. I'd love to be able to join in regular conversations about show topics with human beings who just enjoy the show. Both Paltalk and .net have seemed to get very strange lately. A few bad apples ...? I think its hard enough for someone new to come in and try to participate in this "community" without feeling like an outsider who isn't accepted into the various inner circles and cliques.

The other day I was wondering if some aspects of the Ron and Fez show foster some of the undesirable elements of the fanbase. Knowing that Ron will seemingly bring fans into the fold and basically create show characters out of them, some people left on the outside are not content to just be part of the audience. Could part of this small percentage of the audience be the ones likely to become the obsessive, creepy, stalkers who just hang around to stir shit to try and get Ron's attention for a few seconds in the spotlight? Maybe take it even further with personal attacks? Harassing and threatening late night phone calls to the hosts and their families? Identity theft? Seemingly good people like Mikeyboy, HTG, Casey appear to be distancing themselves from the "community" (an assumption, as I obviously do not know any of them personally). I can understand why.

I look forward to being scolded by someone with 10k+ posts pointing me to a thread back in 2002 where this was already discussed. :bye:

Not by me, it's one of the most annoying things people here do. Outside of the bolded part, I LOVE the first paragraph I quoted bc it's the truth. I sorted out the second part bc there is some truth there. Sure those people are good people, but only MB has been here for a long time, the other two simply post now and then.
