im doing it by myself. its not as hard as i imagined but still pretty trying. i went to a couple of meetings and i just couldnt relate to the people there. it wasnt for me. so i thought id try on my own.

I found that not drinking is usually "off putting" to other people in a social setting. It is like people want you to drink with them to make them more comfortable.

I honestly would have a better life without alcohol in it. IT has a tendency to complicate situations and elicit emotional responses that can be unwelcomed. sometimes just looking at the can in "someones" had will make me shut down so as not to provide amunition for the emotional responses. It is a rare occasion when I do drink these days but I would never drink again if some of the people in my life would make the same promise. It is a co-depent trainwreck.

way to go DB. It's not an easy thing to 12 step. TRUST ME I know what I am talking about.

But consider going to the meetings, even if for once in a while. If you can't relate, check online, they usually have two or three different AA groups in areas. some with different people. Who knows, you might be able to relate to some of those guys and gals.

what can it hurt? I helped me big time to be able to sit down and listen to others talk. I didn't feel as alone.
and sponsers help big time

i had to quit going to bars for awhile and being so self centered,being locked up for awhile kinda helped too

Well I just found this drunken post. My bad for throwing it off topic.

I have been sober since after that night the 13th. I am a binger though and can go for weeks/two weeks/ or a month before I just load up with benzos/8-balls/vodka and go nuts for a few nights. This time I am going to try and stay strong for good. No blow thats for damn sure.

I am real focused on excercise and eating right which is helping.

I got a few months before graduation and then getting a real job its time for me to grow the fuck up.
