He went after Fez quite a bit for not talking during the interview. Who ya got?

I'm on Fez's side. Big Pussy has clearly been talking to Casey lately.

which option is pro-fez?

I know they're classified as RBIs but I wish TH chimed in during them. As proven today and a short time ago with Jonah Bobo, whenever TH tries to be the Larry King in the equation, hysterical radio ensues.

One. Fuck Pussy. You did one roll, fairly at best, and you're an accomplished actor?

Two. Fez should talk more, or get paid less and not bitch when Dave fills the dead-air.

I feel bad for Chris Stanley who will have to edit out all mentions of Fez for when the interview re-airs on RBI.

That would be funny...

But this interview is way too time sensitive to put in RBI.

you call that "going after" someone ? id call it being friendly, reaching out, opening the door, neighborly, reasonable even. do we need to treat fez like oparah now ? no eye contact, do not attempt to engage..... cause fez is lonely and he is determined to stay that way !! arrgh.

Yeah, he was just trying to bring Fez into the interview. Fez was the one that shit the bed by getting all nervous about Vinnie talking to him.

I think there's one interview they did when they first got to XM where Fez was reading the plug and he did it wrong and they said afterwards that the guy looked like he was going to kill Fez over it, and that was really the last time he contributed during the interview. I wish I could remember which one it was.

I don't get his fear, though...they get a lot of good guests (better than O&A), I don't understand why he wouldn't want to take advantage of talking to these people unless it's now been mandated that Ron does all the interviews so they can re-run them on RBI.

Big Pussy was just joking around but it was odd for him to interrupt the interview to point out that Fez wasn't talking.

I found Fez not talking really awkward and weird until I wised up to his quirks.

I thought he had a good time with Fez. If anything if Fez is really not going to say anything during the interviews maybe he should leave the studio, otherwise guests will try to engage him, but feel snubbed when he remains silent.

That was the only "weird" interaction I remember. Maybe there were more. But, since then Fez has kept quiet. It didn't seem like a big deal, but Fez took it hard.

Off the top of my head...

Jack Lemmons kid: (The taste of Lemmon debacle...eventhough it was probably earls fault)
Marilu Henner: (Promised to help Fez then forgot he existed and ran for her life)
Kurt Angle: (Shouldve been Fez's time to shine, but quickly turned bad when Fez did the "you suck" chant)
Nick Swardson: (Swardson wound up thinking he was being accused of being inappropriate with Fez's neice?)

I dont blame Fez for backing off.

what is the story here?

what is the story here?

Fez called Jack Lemmon's kid's book A Taste of Lemon when the actual title was A Twist of Lemmon. When Fez realized this after the interview, he got furious at Earl, then started power-sobbing. Ever since then it's been a painful old wound for Fez to pick at.

I'm still listening to Monday's show, and Ron brings up how Fez never talks during interviews because it always gets awkward.

Foreshadowing?

thanks

you're welcome. i always wanted to tell that story to someone just because the chances of having someone genuinely care enough to ask about it was astronomically low, and I tend to back the underdog.

That's the one I was thinking of.

He totally lost it after that interview, and that's really one of the last times I remember him being actively involved in an interview, except when he's kind of forced in to one (like today).

I wonder how much of it is fear, and how much of it is just complete disinterest, though. He's probably never heard any of the musical guests they ever have in, and never seen the work of like 95% of the actors.

As far as the sports guys go, he's not even really a sports fan.

So really, the only people he'd even be interested in talking to would probably be wrestlers, or something, and I can't remember the last time they had one in (other than Johnny Fairplay, who doesn't count).

But didnt the guest actually correct Fez about the title on the air? I cant remember. Either way, Pitchman plugged the wrong book title a bunch of times. But I 100% believe someone (earl) wrote the wrong title on the sheet.

Yes, CCC was slightly wrong. Chris corrected Fez during the interview, so that was humiliating, and then he took it out on the producers when the interview had ended.
A few days later when director Larry Clark came by, a similar thing happened to Fez where he was giving out the wrong release date for Larry's film.

Actually, it was Chris Lemmon himself who corrected Fez during the interview and tried to play it off, even realizing the double entendre of a "taste" of Lemmon. That freaked out Fez worse.

I think the first guest who called out Fez was Alton Brown during the Food Network alliance days. (Alluding to Fez - "Does he talk?)

To be fair to Fez, nobody does a better interview than Ronnie, so shutting up and shutting down may be the best course of action.

I just think Fez sitting there saying nothing is probably a distraction to the guest. He should leave the studio and do something fun during the interview.

Didn't he make a weird "joke" to that guy from children in the hall too? Something about tom cruise having a private island or something the guy sort of teased him about (playfully)

There was also a phone interview with Brian Johnson of AC/DC where the intro-ed him with some song that nobody has ever heard of and Fez said it was from the new album. Johnson laughed him off saying it was just him screwing around with is friends on mySpace and not from the record. It wasn't that bad and probably not even his fault but fez took it pretty hard.

There was one interview where Fez said something and the guy responded with, "What?" and then a few seconds of dead air. It might have been this one.

ouch, that brings back bad memories. "So, what horrible things have happened during your trip?""Don't you just hate leaving home?""What was the worst stadium you saw and why was it so miserable for you?"
