There is one way to win, simply don't get so easy pissed when someone is off topic. He was pretty much only arguing in one thread, one of the few with any action of late so just let it roll. In reality we are both right. We have a MILLION mods here in name only, meaning too many. However, the mod/poster ratio too has never been higher bc our reg posters are sooooo low right now bc those mods here can't really do anything minus remove spammers and ban people. I think he's right, as many of us have said often, this place needs a power transfer and someone who can add some flavor to the shit wafer it has become.

Sure there are some cool, funny, and interesting posters here still. However, we hardly have the fun events, board related contests and shit that really only the people running it could make possible. We can get really deep into this but it really isn't worth it. Beyond Sailor, AJ, Furtherman, yourself and occasionally Fallon, pretty much no other mod/mini-mod even posts here. Not one admin is involved and they are the powers that are supposed to have the power to make positive changes to the software, front page, event planning and more. The only possible reasons Jon is hanging on to this is he's making some cheap money from it (remember he used to gift out plenty to mods back when less known and gifts at events he no longer does) or it's a pathetic power move.

It was just given to him from Jeff/Carter, time for him to just give it to someone interested as well. In reality, it may already be too late.

The difference between me and him is, before I was a mod, if I saw a problem, I'd tell one of the more trustworthy mods/admins, and they'd take care of it if needed. I can't count the number of times someone posted something EXTREMELY hurtful and personal about someone, I'd shoot Mikey a PM or IM, and he'd take care of it.

i blame the show. when i started posting, people were pining for the older posters who no longer posted here and i'm sure they did it for years before that. there was always an influx of new people to keep the site moving forward. the site at its base is related to the show and if the show is arguably going downhill (and also wanting nothing to do with messageboards anymore) those newer posters are not going to show up. heck, if someone started listening to the show today and loved it, they wouldn't even know there was a messageboard to bitch about.
