Ah, finally now that the U.N. Summit is over we can get back to real news that will impact our lives. One group of school children in New Jersey celebrating black history month with a song about the first black President of the United States.

But I know you hate this site, so take the letter from the superintendent for what it's worth. May be true, may not be.

Here's a quote from a FOX News article:
Pronchik said he and his wife were never informed about the lesson, which the superintendent of Burlington Township schools says was held in February as part of Black History Month "to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country."

Do two biased sources equal one non-biased source?

I think that they could have done something more educational then jsut saying how great the president is and how he's making America better. Is he?
I'm fine with teaching about how he is the first black president and how important that is, but to sing a song to the battle hymn of the republic about him really bothers me. How can we help him should be how can we help America.

And the teacher will likely be punished. It was a poor decision for her to have them do this. Though, we really don't know the details of this. assignment, but on the surface, it looks bad.
However, this is in no way a sign of a mass attempt by liberals to indoctrinate school children as some "news" sources are trying to spin it. Things like this are a complete waste of time and serve as ammunition for extremists.

Again, this happened at one school in nj and the teacher will probably be punished (just my opinion). Clearly George Soros and Acorn saw GI Joe and are trying to rule the world like Cobra Commander.

Seems like a big waste of time on every possible level.
Almost as a big a waste of time as when I had to particpate in what amounted to a "WE LOVE PRESIDENT BUSH" song abomination for a visit by the first Bush when I lived in Paris at the age of 11.
Do you know how you can tell if something is inconsequential nonsense?
If Glenn Beck talked about it.

For the record I think this was a very, very poor choice on the part of the teacher and ultimately it was time better spent actually, y'know, teaching.
That and it sounds like a fucking Godawful song. It reads like they translated the thing from Japanese.

But then how would we stay informed about important issues like a bunch of kids somewhere singing a song about a guy?

Fine, then he has to stop lying to us about being an "independent".

Plus it was done as a part of Black History Month.
Personally, I think it was a dumb idea, but this really is the epitome of a shitstorm over nothing.

I'll bet the one for William Henry Harrison is about as long as The Beatles' "Her Majesty".

She'll get disciplined... Then what? Why does any of this matter on a national level? Why is our mainstream media so terrible?

Clearly this had nothing to do with Obama. He didn't tell this teacher to sing this song. No one in his administration did. It was one teacher who felt the need to do what she did. It was pretty dumb. That was all I was trying to convey. That it was dumb and kind of creepy.

This is what school kids do for presentations.
Last nights daily show had a video clip of kids singing to Bush.
