I get that it's what they're putting the show stuff on now, but holy shit they plug it 20 times a day. I never thought something could be plugged more than PalTalk was on a daily basis (not that I'm complaining about that...that was always bothersome too).

I don't really care about the ass-kissing contest that happens between the different sites to gain favor either...the only reason I bring it up is because the constant shoehorning of the plug in there totally disrupts the flow of listening to the show. It seriously is as bad as some of the awkward live read transitions.

Cut a promo for it, and run it once a day and leave it at that.

the problem is not a hell of a lot happens with 202 friends on twitter. I don't think Ron and Fez get it. They say go and post or sign up for the party on 202 friends on twitter but it doesn't work that way.

Do we even know who runs 202Friends? It has to be someone close to the show with technical savvy, who very recently vacated a lot of time in their schedule...

I think if you're going to run contests, or post show videos you kindof need to do a lot of mentions to make stuff like that work, to get enough people to pay attention. As pervasive as twitter seems to be it's still probably a much less likely place for a listener to visit than just a website. The more you incorporate it into the show, the more people will get comfortable with it.

I hadn't really noticed it through the fog of Guiness spots.

The problem with the putting things on 202Friends is that Twitter is transitory. You put a picture there one day and it's tough to find the next. The strength of the message board over Twitter is that it works better for long term storage and display.

Then why do you hate this one so much...?

Good time last night. Good to see everyone. Glad to see the Twitter Team take it home, even if we were forced to take on Wackbag instead of RF.Net.

And I'm still traumatized by the Newlywed Game...

If you are in a band, have a radio show, own a store, or anything that needs promotion I see Twitter as a valuable tool to alert all of your "followers" of the latest goings on.

If you're a delusional person who believes his or her life is so interesting that every single insignificant event in your daily life needs to be mass-text messaged to the world (which is basically what Twitter is) then you're in need of psychiatric care.

This is off topic, but I noticed that your simple and modest request posting under GregoryJoseph has not been granted.

I think the pimping of twitter is good for .net. Now every angry asshole goes there instead of here and this place can somewhat return to normal.

When .net was the official site of the show someone like This guy (http://twitter.com/njlstones) was posting here because they though it was actually getting through to the show...

I still don't think Twitter is a real thing. The newsmedia were so embarrassed about joining the Facebook and Myspace bandwagons too late that they created this "Twitter" site so they could look cutting-edge and hip.

I agree. My internet social interactions are confined to facebook and ronfez.net. I like ronfez.net because of the people on here and I like facebook because I can get my close/fringe friends opinions on things. For example, if I watch a movie I'll post here and there and get peoples opinions.

Also, on facebook I may learn a friend I'm not very close to has a similar interest. I see NO value in Twitter, as it's difficult to have a conversation with it. It's just people posting random bits of (often) useless information. I think the news media likes it because it's easier for self promotion than facebook, which has boosted it's popularity.

It's the first "social networking" thing that felt lame as soon as it started. When news programs and your parents are talking about twittering, you know it sucks.

I opened a Twitter account a few weeks ago and I have been using it. the whole thing is just a little boring to me. Like a 1 sided conversation usually. Or maybe nobody likes me.

While I agree with Twitter being lame, MySpace was also incredibly lame.

Facebook was ok when it was limited to university and college e-mail addresses...as soon as that opened up to the general public, and they remade the layout and added the stupid apps and quizzes, that became unbearable.
