i had to soap Alex's mouth once, she was 7, she learned the N word @ school and after i explained what it meant, she used it again...no warning, just a march to the kitchen sink and a drop of Dawn, lesson learned.
Why is the focus on child discipline in this discussion?
It isn't just a little soap in the mouth that got washed out after a bit. They had the kid chew on a bar of soap for 10 minutes. The kid was vomiting and foaming at the mouth and the lips and throat were swelling. The dumb ass mother and her boyfriend didn't go to the hospital to avoid dealing with the DCF and has a history of complaints about them.
I'm sick of the bullshit "well that's what we got when I was a kid." It's considered abuse now. Get with the times here folks.

Last week we had a family in base housing that were arrested, thrown in jail and had their kids taken away becuase they had a filthy house, trash all over the place, dog shit on the floor and kids bed; moldy and spoiled food in the frige and nothing in the cuboards. You mean a will. A living will is something different. But no, the point of having a will is that you leave your possessions to whomever you choose... the relationship doesn't matter. Nobody has more of a claim then the people who the property was left to in the will.
The history of mankind includes the struggle of the repressed. Did women just "get the right to vote"? Did blacks just "get civil rights legislation passed"?
Gays need to get off their ass and mobilize, or they need to shut the fuck up. Lazy pricks.

Exactly on all counts. State laws regarding who is an heir and collects money upon death kicks in when a person dies intestate (without a will). That's where family members would be able to collect an a gay partner would not. You could have a will giving nothing to your family and giving the money to a charity or homeless person if you wanted.
And a living will kicks in when the person is still alive, but is unconscious, coma, etc. and are unable to make their decisions known.

Best gay characters ever on TV at least according to me.
Brian Kinney ( Queer as Folk :USA ) met none of the gay stereotypes, lived a no excuses, no regrets, no apologies life.
Omar Little ( The Wire ) again met none of the gay stereotypes and was a fucking super hero.
Neither of these guys were a play thing for a straight woman nor were they a comedic side kick, they were tough as balls and just something to watch.
Also both played by straight men who should have gotten awards for their portrayals.

Omar Little ( The Wire ) again met none of the gay stereotypes and was a fucking super hero.
i agree
I was at a resturant last night where there were 4 or 5 gay and lesbians hanging out. I brought up the gay marriage thing and they all agreed "marriage" should be left to hetros and their causes are not helped by marches on Washington and Gay Rights Parades with the guys wearing assless chaps and humping each other; it sterotypes them.
They were all in their 30s (I would guess); and most had professional jobs. They actually sort of blamed the delemma on the in-mature; not the hetros or politicians.

At Yale, the joke about the gay population there was always "One in four, maybe more."
I think it was closer to one in ten, but that the gay population was so outspoken, they seemed like a greater segment.

Columbia is a top 5 law school regularly along with Yale, Harvard, and my law school, New York University.
Yale though is consistently ranked the top law school. But in terms of producing graduates who are good at practicing law, it's not better than the other schools, I don't think. Their outlook on their goals is best expressed by a saying I heard was attributed to a Yale law professor "We're here to make Presidents, not lawyers."

Chester Greenwood invented the earmuff in 1873, at the age of 15.[1][2] He reportedly came up with the idea while ice skating, and had his grandmother sew tufts of fur between loops of wire.[3] He was awarded patent #188,292 on March 13, 1877. He manufactured these ear protectors, providing jobs for people in the Farmington area, for nearly 60 years.[1][4]
