They say every person has his/her limit.

At work what is you limit? What is the one thing your Boss would say or do that you would say "Fuck this I'm done"?

Just walk away from your Job and never look back......

Ethically, criminally, stress wise. A lot of people would do anything their boss tells them just to keep the job, but at what point can you not sleep at night?

I did leave a job for another when one of the boss put me in many different immoral positions, covering up for his infidelity and just plain being a bastard... I did not quit on the spot, but looked for a new job and left when it presented itself.

This is a bit of a dilemma for me because I am self employed. There are times when I have a client in my chair and I just feel like saying to their face "fuck this bullshit" but ultimately I have to just suck it up and swallow it.
For the most part I love what I do but sometimes it seems that I end up with all the high maintenance clients on the same day. Those are the days I wish I was independently wealthy and didn't have to work.
I just had this conversation tonight with one of my coworker/friends and I said that I can't imagine being a psychiatrist/psychologist and having to listen to real problems all day everyday. I would definitely need some serious drugs to cope with that shit.

I'm my own boss and I threaten to quit multiple times daily.

I'm edging ever closer as the micromanagement increases here.

I am waaaayyyy past my limit due to incompetence.

But I have a job, when a lot of my friends don't.

So I'm sticking to it until the marketplace looks better or my heart explodes die to stress.

Have a nice day.

I know the feeling.

Often times I can't even sleep during the week due to stress at my job.

Last week I commented to an outside contractor that I hate working overtime. He said he never heard someone say that before. I told him I used to love overtime until the current "Regime" came in, now I can't get out of there fast enough.

Last year I was suppose to have Christmas week off. I had it scheduled off for 13 months prior and was really looking forward too it since it was the first time in the 7 years I'd been there that I had it off. Then my "Boss" told me I had too work. It devestated my Wife and Family as we had plans.

I swore then that if they ever tried to make me do something that would make me have too see that look on my Familys face again I would walk. No job is worth losing your family over.

Stuff like that is absolute bullshit. I expect my employer to give me the same respect I give them. My boss sometimes thinks he can pull stuff like that on some of our more incompetent employees, but I have to remind him it's unfair regardless of the employee's performance. Once you start pulling fast ones on your workers, you lose the loyalty. My boss takes care of me but sometimes he needs me to be his conscience when he's making decisions that are going to affect someone's livelihood.

I left my freelance gig and took a staff job on the opposite side of the country....so my limit was hit and I corrected the situation.

The "Boss" who did this too me lasted 10 Months. My new "Boss" (the third in 2 years) seems to be fair and straight forward, but like an abused animal I'm distrustful.

Moral at this place is garbage, never seen anything like it before. First of the year I'm looking, would have been gone already but the Wife is in Nursing school full time and someones gotta pay the rent.

A complete scene change is in the future plan, but for now I'm suck around here while my Wife finishes school. I've been offered, and had to turn down, jobs in Seattle, DC, and Virginia.

It's just so..........:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I would never do anything against my principles and I wouldn't tolerate being disrespected.

I've quit jobs for just those reasons, even when I had nothing else lined up.

my job as a mom....I would never quit...EVER.
my job as a wife......I would quit if husband refused to take out garbage.
my part-time job....if they started taking advantage of me, or got in the way of my family life.

I have never had a horrible boss or job. I guess I am one of the luckier ones.

that's not an option when you are responsible for a kid and your own house.

In my company, they cut with one hand and calm with the other. Its a large company and they absorb other companies and were the last one they absorbed. We had a pretty good corporate culture before the take over and it kind of went to shit when this new company took over. I wasn't there when the original company existed, but a lot of my co workers were and they say that company was the best and a "family". I came in during the second companys reign. Now that the new company has been in control for 2 years, we see that they only care about profit, and the worker is shit in their eyes. They call people into their managers office and fire them and say that its nothing personal, they have security standing by and tell the people to come back on saturday to pick up their shit, and the guard takes their badge and escorts the guy out. Then, they shiw us videos of how to be safe and to ask for help when we are stressed and that there is help available when you feel depressed. I have seen good people get that call to go to the office and you see their face ashen and they walk that mile to their employment death. I hate seeing that and hope it stopsan but I think my limit would be if the woman who sits near me who is a single mother who has a severly retarded child that she just had to put into a home and it crushed her to do it, if she got that call.

im approaching that limit every single day. ive never dreaded going into work more than i have this past week. my job is starting to pull that nonsense where they begin "noticing" problems with job performance. things that were never a problem before are becoming "issues". i know it will probably hurt my mental health, but they are gonna have to fire my ass. im collecting that unemployment. when they do get rid of me, ill be going back to school.

This is the proper way to go. With UE benefits being extended longer and longer, it's the best way to finish your schooling.

Wow, I threw this thread out there as an extention of my own fustrations with my Job and I'm shocked too see so many people with similar stories.

It goes so much more beyond "I hate my Job, my Boss is a dick". People without a Job might say we should be lucky to have one, but in my case if I got shown the door it would be Bittersweet. I would hate to have to find another job right now, but would be OVERJOYED to never have to go back to that place.

Yeah I think the same for me as well. Back to school to "tweak" my position in my field. The "Tech" guys get sweet hours and no stress at my job.

the thing is employers know this and are taking advantage of it. they can abuse employees more and more because they know someone will rush in with bells on to take the spot. hours/wage cuts and furloughs are how they take advantage. they've got us by the short and curlies and they know it.
