What's your "limit" with drinking?

If you have to drive and you're out with your friends at a bar and you're the driver, how much do you drink? do you drink at all? I'm a 3 beer type of guy, I won't exceed that. what say you?

I got a DUI 10 years ago. I never want to go through that torture again. I'd think twice about driving after just one beer.

2-3 beers before midnight + breakfast before the drive... which is usually around 4

2 of my best friends got DUI's.......7 months. longest 7 months ever, and i dont wanna tempt fate. but i feel like if im out for a few hours 3 beers wont put me over the limit

i try to never drink and drive, but once in awhile I will have a glass of wine and drive. That's it though. I would never be shy to call for a ride. I wouldn't want to put anyone else in danger from my stupidity.

Oh! I had a restricted license for one year. I could still drive to and from work, but it was a huge pain in the ass.

I never go out anymore. I would not have more than 2 beers and most likely only a single beer.

These days with zero tolerance you can hardly have a beer and get away with it. A few years ago i had 4-5 microbrew amber ales, went to another bar had a shot of something and a jack and coke and then took off to a friends place. I got pulled over on the way. I thought this is it I'm toast. Did all of the roadside tests. Then they brought out the breathalyzer. Now I was really worried. I blew twice and got a .064. Maybe my tolerance was up, maybe the alcohol didn't have time to process yet. I got lucky, but the cops still had to decide what to do with me. They made me park my car, and left me off. And I got a ride to my friends place.
Now I use the cabs. It's hard for me to stay in a bar for longer than an hour and not have at least three beers. I'll end it at three beers and leave.

Depending on how far I'd have to drive, my limit would be about 2 or 3 with a few pints of water and a couple of hours passing before I drive.

If I was driving others, I'd wouldn't drink.

Zero tolerance these days is the main reason for that... years ago though, I'd probably have a few more and have no problem driving right away.

Hell, I had a 16 oz beer on the way home last night. But, now a days if my belly is full of food and I had plenty of water before I have driven home after drinking quite a lot. If I have kids with me, one beer maybe andd that's it.

It depends on how long I am at it.
I may start off the evening with 3 or 4 drinks, but then I always slow down toward the end and will nurse the last one or two. That way my body has time to metabolize the alcohol.
I'll take in very little the last hour.

It also depends on where I am drinking.
If I am a long way from home, I'll back off even longer from drinking before I go home.

Also, if I am having more than a couple, I'll also have me a couple glasses of water on the side, not just to dilute the alcohol in my stomach but also to cause me to piss more and I think it helps prevent hangovers.
