And I said New York, because New York fans love abandoning their teams and leaving the stands empty. I've been to a lot of NY sports events.

We'll see if they show up tonight though. Apparently the "Yankees" are Pedro's Daddy, but Pedro....

well.

Pedro needs a quick inning or two to get his pitch count back on track.

While he threw 130 against the Mets earlier this year, I can't see Charlie going with him much longer than 90-100, unless they've got an enormous lead and he's cruising.

Why? He doesn't have the fastball anymore, but he's still one of the smartest pitchers in the game.

He's done exactly what most of us have seen the last two months....high pitch count innings, burning pitches to set up other pitches, and getting out of at-bats.

He's a junk baller now, but he's still a world class junkballer.

Even the pitch to Matsui was a good pitch, Matsui just went down and got it.

If they hold the Yanks to one here, they've got a shot. Mo doesn't give up bombs, but Mo probably also hasn't face lefty power like this lineup has. It's a long shot, but we'll see...

I don't feel comfortable facing either.

But I've watched enough Burnett starts with the Marlins and Blue Jays to know that when he's locked in like this, his stuff gets better later in games, and the Phillies have never been able to hit his breaking pitches.

The only thing that maybe throws him off is sitting this long in this half inning (if he is actually coming back out).

One of the reasons this team is so tough and have just tortured the Mets with horrendous losses for them over the years is that they grind these at bats late in games, and always seem to put themselves in a position where they get the tying run to the plate and give themselves a chance to tie it with a swing.

Now, Rivera's the best, but they'll make him work pretty hard for every out.

Finally back in this thread. Drinking til 3:30 is rough when you got work in the morning.

Heres what I took away from Game 2...

- Pedro pitched as well as I said he would, but once again got no run support

- There were blown calls for both teams that pretty much evened out the game, but man the strike zone was wide

- Charlie Manuel has to get over this fear of sending the runners. Especially when its the 2 fastest guys on the team.

- Phillies should be stealing all over Posada. That Ichabod Crane looking mother fucker couldnt throw me out

- Uncle Chollie did say something I loved when he said "We can hit Rivera. Theres not a closer in this league we cant hit."

- I think Girardi is scared to death to have to use anyone in his bullpen besides Mo.

Good series so far.

I don't like when Rivera is brought in for 2inn. Most of his playoff blown saves have come when he has gone two innings.

And now at his advanced age, i do not think its a good. I can understand that Joe does not trust anyone else in that pen. But when AJ is dealing like that, you at least start the 8th with him, especially with the bottom order up. We got very lucky on the Utley DP.

To be completely honest with Posada catching at that point I really was hoping Charlie would double steal. Youve got the two fastest guys on the team and your best shot at making it. You gotta take the risk sometime.

That Utley hit would have at least scored Rollins and left Victorino on 3rd with 2 out for Howard. Oh well.

Oh i agree 100percent. I was shocked that he did not start the runners there. With Molina i could understand, but Posada has a terrible arm. Two fast runners like Rollins and Victerino, u gotta start them. Its like when Torre did not once steal on Wakefield and Veritek in 04.

1. I agree about the cameras.

2. Joe Buck is an admitted Yankee Fan. Watch some of the HBO documentaries and youll hear him talk about his love for the Yankees.
I just don't get that feeling when I listen to his commentary. He always seems so into the opposition team. Maybe he does it on purpose trying not to show his favoritism.

I dont think he acts like a homer during the game, I really dont. Im just saying hes an admitted Yankee fan, and even he was saying there was no guarantee on that one. Even after he said all it did was let them make a judgement call.

Now that piece of shit Tim McCarver was screaming how it was an obvious home run sounding like the dumb fuck he is the whole time.

McCarver sounded anti-Yankee even when he was the Yankee announcer

I think it was a home run, but it wasn't obvious enough to overturn the call on the field.

It really is a drinking game in the making. A shot for ever dumb fucking comment he makes.

That one from the other night when he said,"You don't wanna' throw a fastball hitter too many fastballs." was the creme de le creme.

I liked tonight "The first call that was overturned since October of 2008....2 years ago."
