I might regret this... That attorney got ganged up on today... I think he held his own... then again I am in law school.
At least lawyers don't jam up the radio with shitty calls on a constant basis.

I don't know. When they can get one section of the population that riled up, I get a kick out of it.

...or Dave on the air.
Truckers make for the worst callers. They ruin every satellite show I listen to. I'd like to listen in peace without some meth addled hayseed trucker ruining a bit with their slack jawed yammering.

lawyers talk like seeds always spoutin "facts" like 75% of all truck/car accidents are caused by cars and sigs are too big

Given the vastly greater number of cars/SUVs/etc. on the road vs. the number of trucks, 25% of all accidents involving trucks sounds pretty fuckin' high to me.

I missed this segment yesterday, but judging by what I see every day on the roads I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of accidents between cars and trucks are the cars fault.
First off, people think the primary function of their headlights is to help THEM see.
It's not.
It's to help OTHERS see YOU.
This is why New York and New Jersey have the "Wipers On/Lights On" law. It's never enforced, unfortunately.
When you're driving a truck with blind spots and rely solely on your mirrors to see what is behind you or along side of you, cars without their headlights on are INVISIBLE, especially on a rainy or overcast day.
Secondly, most people don't realize that an extremely large and heavy vehicle, like a tractor trailer, requires a very long stopping distance.
They routinely pass them to beat them to a red light and slam their breaks on ahead of them.

I love the fact that all the lawyer said was that this is why truck driving companies get sued, and all the fucking hayseeds of course misinterpreted it and attacked the guy like he said everyone should sue truckers because they suck.

What do you expect from guys who shit and piss in milk jugs then toss them into the trash cans at the diesel pumps at the rest stops exposing some poor 16 year old working his first summer job to the horrors of shit and feces cooking inside plastic trash barrels in 90 degree weather.

Yes I think I remember hearing 75% of accidents are caused by cars once or 17,000 times.
I also love hearing how we couldn't buy anything if not for them just about anytime they open their mouths.

Yes because trains, boats and airplanes have yet to be invented.

I think it was funny when the trucker started citing "facts." Ie. most accidents are caused by cars. Statistics are shit. The truckers failed to realize that the particular circumstances of each case are only relevant.
There is no legal advice or commentary in the following it is a product of my communication/business background with a few common legal terms within:
The perception of the public about litigation is hilarious. In order to get a judgment they have to PROVE their case. They seemed to be under the assumption that the attorney took and fought tooth and nail for EVERY wreck involving a truck. Why would an attorney want to waste his time and energy on a bad case.
It would be like: A trucker is told he will get paid if he takes a load cross country, but only if the cargo makes it. The boss says, there may not be cargo in the back of the truck, the truck may be on the verge of break down, and the boss may or may not have enough money to pay him.
Would the truck driver take the job? He would best find objective criteria to see if the job was work taking.. (ie. inspect the cargo area, have the truck checked, and discover the boss's solvency.) An attorney does the same thing before taking a case or he/she is a fool.
Settlements are only effective if the interests of the defendant to purse litigation are outweighed by other interests (ie. economic). If the plaintiff doesn't at least have a good case (proving all elements).. no need to settle..

I laughed when the lawyer said they wouldn't take the case if there wasn't merit. Cause lawyers don't get paid either way....
Works on contingency? No. Money down!

After reading such a compelling statement I have to concur whole heartily... Your statement is ripe with a full consideration and understanding of my statement and totally rebuts... I just have to admit, I cannot stand up to the blast of superior reasoning in which you exude sir... I bow humbly ...
