I have to agree that the music was too loud and the club really tried to milk the most out of all people attending, from mandatory wrist bands or $20 cover after 10 + 3 bucks mandatory coat check and switching drink special rules, where one ended up with coors light or something low grade in a tiny cup by the second time one ordered a better drink.

It was still nice to see a many good people there, wish it would have been a location that was more enjoyable and courteous to the customer.

Personally I think it wouldn't have hurt if Jon confirmed with the bar that the wrist band deal was not mandatory when the first questions came up in the thread...basically it was just assumed from how it was handled in past events so it's not really fair to say the bar screwed him over...

my only problem was that if Jon had spent as much time with the bar beforehand hammering out a contract and deals they had to go by as he did spend after midnight arguing with the gal about how many people came in before midnght paying the full wristband deal, things would have been less confusing.
People were drinking one thing one minute and the next time were told that they could not have it and were substituted a cheap low end liquor or beer... and the fact that you had to pay at least 20 cover OR the wristband, that all should have been clear before hand and not by the time people arrived at the door. I think it kept a bunch of people away who would otherwise have stopped by to say hello to friends and then moved on.
That's just part of the organization of such event. Sorry, carelessly organized and executed on his end.

I wouldn't care if their "VIP area" holds 100 people (which I doubt highly), I wouldn't want it to. What kind of "VIP" am I if I have to fight the same crowd as non-VIP for a shitty small 10 oz. plastic cup of either Bud or Bud Light (which they ran out of) and the lie of it all being top shelf liquor or any beer.

Slow as fuck bartenders. And then while the bar is 3 or 4 deep, they take 2 bartenders off the floor and make them do the gimmick of getting on the bar and barely pouring shitty rum that's been watered down with blue shit into people's mouths. Sure, a hot chick on the bar is great, but not when I ain't got a fucking drink in my hand for the past 20 minutes.

I couldn't believe people were even there for any other reason. I mean, I know we were a gathering, but the place was packed with non-.net people. In NYC, I understand dropping $40 at the door to get in a place, but not THAT place.

Jon had all the best intentions obviously, but it was just the fact that place was a pure ripoff. To us, to him especially and to anyone that's ever walked through it's doors.
