Yep, it's that time of the year again, where we drink, be merry, and cause a ruckus! This year, it will be...

Saturday, December 12, 2009
9pm till they kick us out
at The Yard (formerly Porky's NYC) - http://porkysnyc.com/
55 W 21st Street, by the corner of 6th Ave in NYC

This year's drink special is $35 for all you can drink Top Shelf from 9pm-12am. This includes any any beers they carry as well as the liquor. Buying a bracelet is not mandatory, but you do get access to the "VIP Area" in the back of the bar (I was told it fits up to 100 ppl, but may get tight with that many people back there) and can skip any lines that may be outside the bar when you arrive. If you do not buy a bracelet, you will not have access to that area.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

this is nonsense. Why do we have to pay. The benefit of having alot of people is gettin special deals, not the same shit as everyone else. We shouldnt have to pay to get in somewhere. Fuck we could just name a place and tell everyone to go there and they would and it would be free. When its that busy, no one is gettin 35 bucks worth when its that busy.

Fuck we could just go to Dave and Busters and get better deals. What is in this for you Jon? Tryin to bang some bartender there?

Snoogans
11-18-2009, 08:59 PM
they do wrist band deals cause so many people think they are gettin a good deal, it gets packed, you end up able to get 1 drink an hour, and they clean up. This isnt a deal, they are fuckin us.

You know, just for the record, (because I know Ron mentioned it on the air a week or two ago) no one was pissed that they cleared an area for O&A to sit down. They were pissed at the way Master Po- a guest himself at that particular party- essentially manhandled everyone to clear that area.

I do like when the parties are in the UES for parking reasons, cause it tags on a bit of time to take the path after 11 PM... but I don't mind parking outside the city and taking the train in otherwise.
Do the same! I am going to see if Spider wants to come with again, we can all take the path together.

I know someone mentioned the parking situation already, but keep in mind most weekend nights the street is closed down to motorists by the NYPD. The mobile command post is set up on the east side of the block.

The club is a few doors east of 6th avenue. Anybody arranging pick up via car service later in the evening might consider using the McDonalds on 6th between 21st and 22nd. It's right around the corner.

I guess this is what happens when you wait until the last minute to plan a party, or assume everyone is taking mass transportation.

At 9pm in that area, parking shouldn't be too bad. It's still considered early. There's also a lot on 20th between 5th and 6th.

I predict this party will get moved to the 40/40 Club.

VIP, home of Dave's bachelor party, is one block south of the bar.

And if you don't like the bracelet deal, don't buy it. The "VIP area" was offered to us by the bar and called as such by them. It's really just a table area for anyone who buys a bracelet. We'll have the run of the bar, and I've been told there will be plenty of bartenders that night. Again, they are opening an hour earlier than normal, so you will be able to get drinks.

I've been to this place and it's a good place for a party. There's lots of room and no reason to get worked up over some roped off section in the back of the room. R&F will we as gracious as ever in greeting people and are only really going to be conversing with their close friends anyway. You want to stand near them for some reason? Get a bracelet. Plus they're approachable on the street.

But these parties are always more about the .net buddays getting together.

$35 is a GREAT deal for parties such as these.

If you don't want to, that's fine, but it's pointless to bitch about it. This is going to be a big Christmas party. You gotta pay to play.

That place would be about the average - $6 a bottle. Draft might be around the same but are usually cheaper, but that's just for domestic beer.

But yea, $35 is a great bargain.

I was sitting there before it changed. Po was fine - we moved and he was polite. as Marc said, it was the few people who got annoyed that they weren't special enough to sit there that made it a story.

And let's be honest; this "RonFez.net" party is really a Twitter party.

The man who owns this site does not participate in it, he's addicted to Twitter.

He does nothing to try to better this place and has no interaction with the show.

Just because he decides to throw a party at a trendy club we're all expected to follow like sheep?

Just because the owner of this site decides to call a bar night the "RonFez.net" Christmas party doesn't mean it has to be so.

Let's be honest; the "O&A, R&F PalTalk/Twitter" party is a joke. It's for O&A fans (hence the location) by O&A fans, with Ron and Fez thrown in as an after thought.

It's also terribly inconvenient to get to for Ron and Fez, so obviously the planners of that party did not have them in mind AT ALL when they organized it.

The "RonFez.net" party is being thrown by someone who doesn't participate here AT ALL.

It's as if Carter or PanterA decided to throw a "RonFez.net" party.

I already posted this in MPW, but that weekend is traditionally the RF.net party. Lots of people (myself included) have been bugging Jon to set up a venue for it. He came through with one. Jon may not be as present on the site as he once was, but he did step up and find a place.

so, Greg, you seem to get along with Ron and Fez pretty well. Think you could convince them to show up to this UES Christmas/Winter/Holiday party you are creating?

I'll definitely extend an invite, but I wouldn't make them choose.

If they've committed elsewhere, I fully understand.

Again, I agree that they're fun and I love seeing everyone.

I'm just saying I can't go in good conscience and I'll be elsewhere in the city that night.

If Hitler threw the greatest Christmas parties every year but then started exterminating people I wouldn't say "Who cares who is throwing the party? It's a great time!"

Just my feelings.

I can like 85% guarantee that no one will be exterminated at the rf.net party.

Gmann
11-19-2009, 01:27 PM
But even if Jon doesn't participate so much here anymore, it is a party being thrown for members of this site to get together and have a good time, and something that it done every year. Who cares who organized it, the purpose and intent are the same as every other year.

Im with Missy on this one.

Just because the owner of this site decides to call a bar night the "RonFez.net" Christmas party doesn't mean it has to be so.

I just feel that Jon has abandoned this site for Twitter, does nothing here anymore, but expects everyone to blindly support him merely because we're Ron and Fez fans.

I couldn't do it.

If Jon didn't set it up, there wouldn't be one.

Please don't let futherman take photos.

Sorry, Bri...but that's nonsense.

He claimed over a month ago that he had one all set and was just waiting to announce the details.

So we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Over a month later he announces this.

Do you really think we wouldn't have put something together if he didn't lie to us over a month ago?

Let's be honest; the "O&A, R&F PalTalk/Twitter" party is a joke. It's for O&A fans (hence the location) by O&A fans, with Ron and Fez thrown in as an after thought.

It's also terribly inconvenient to get to for Ron and Fez, so obviously the planners of that party did not have them in mind AT ALL when they organized it.

The "RonFez.net" party is being thrown by someone who doesn't participate here AT ALL.

It's as if Carter or PanterA decided to throw a "RonFez.net" party.

That's all I'm saying.

I'll hang elsewhere, and won't jump through hoops for someone looking for accolades merely because he owns a site that has the names of a radio show we enjoy.

Boo fuckin hoo

As long as someone plans it, I could give two shits who it is.
Even if he doesn't post that much anymore, Jon is still taking time away from LEGO construction to plan a party for us.
Maybe you should try a little more lifting up and a little less tearing down.

How difficult can it be to keep the location secret and spring a bullshit $35 VIP area party on us?

Feel free to hang with whomever you wish, just as I'll hang with those I'm more comfortable with.

By the way, HERE IS THE POST (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2534229&postcount=58) where Jon said he was almost ready to announce the party.

This was in a thread where out of towners were begging for the date so they could make plans.

Gvac,

In the spirit of the season, why dont you just attend the party, but without the VIP Bracelet / $35 cover nonsense?

This way you can get to celebrate the buddays, but show your discontent with the organizer of the party.
