The gayest show in radio?

I'm curious how much time a day the show spends tackling gay issues and gay news stories.

Today they did roughly a 45 minute gay break...the show is about 3 hrs & 20 minutes of air time with commercials factored in, and they lost about 20 minutes to backlogged O&A commercials today, so the show was about 25% gay today.

I must say, I tried to get my brother to listen to the show back in October when he came to visit and I turned the radio on 4 different times and they we're talking about gays those 4 different times!!!..........ughhh, I had to turn the channel, my brother loved Ron and his witty comments but couldn't get through hours of gay talk...

Well thank you for the props, but I'm not fooling myself. There's dozens of topics a day. Some days no gay issues come up, that's the truth. I personally don't care, as long as Ron and Fez present what they're talking about to me in an entertaining way I can listen to it. Maybe the gay talk sticks out more b/c its less about current events? I watch a lot of sports (and disagree w/ almost everything Ron and Dave say about them) but it seems more current than some weird logic about how gay males are persecuted more than any other group in the history of the world.

Also the secret thing just bothers me. I know its incredibly easy to say, but either be gay or dont be gay and shut up about it. This isnt the 1950's, we dont live in iran, Fez is a gay man with a high paying job living in nyc...its the biggest non story thats become an annoying subplot that wont go away.

Or be a closeted gay man who just doesnt talk about it all the time.

My only issue with it, is not that they do it...that they essentially have the same two discussions over and over again...

It's either a discussion about political correctness, or the nature/choice argument about homosexuality every time, and it's been repeating on a loop for at least a year, maybe longer.

And every time one of those two discussions comes up, Fez pretends like none of the previous discussions they've been having for the past year ever took place.

And then when Ron makes his argument yet again, Fez clams up and stops talking, or just keeps repeating the same thing over again, and then Ron will ask him if he understands the argument, Fez will kind of brush it off without really answering or acknowledging, then they'll awkwardly segway into a live read and repeat the whole thing over and over again.

It would be tolerable if you got the impression the discussion was making any progress, or Fez was paying any attention to any of the things that are being said to him, but it's just Groundhog Day at this point.
