Rib pain/dislocation and my favorite new word combination

They say the 5th rib is tilted slightly adrift of its proper positioning and is therefore pulling tissue like an extending chord of meat booger. This results in gobs of back pain and I was wondering if it'll fix itself if I just take the pain for a few more weeks?

Man, that's a colorful way of saying "I sprained my rib". :smile: Ha, I can't get the words "like an extending chord of meat booger" out of my head. Would you PLEASE call that in to my voicemail line 423 DIE TUTI?

I'm assuming it was a chiropractor who told you this? If you truly dislocate a rib it will hurt like hell for several weeks, and that's if it reduces itself to its normal position. A good quality Xray can confirm dislocation if it continues to hurt. If you have insurance, chiropractic or physical therapy may help. Cold packs are direct antiinflammatories and may also help.
