Which are your least favorite stores and what could they do to make you change your mind about them?

Walmart. To me it is everything that is wrong with America. And they would have to change pretty much everything about themselves to change my opinion. I doubt they are hurting for my business.

I get so confused when people say that, to me they're pretty much the definition of capitalism.

I admire walmart as a company, but I would never shop there

Canadian Tire (kind of a mix of Pep Boys, Walmart, Harbor Freight). On the upside their sale prices are decent, they have a good mix of product and they're usually in good location. On the downside is their staff and customer service. They seem to hire 1) the most apathetic high school students, 2) geriatrics who are moments from death or 3) someone fresh off the boat and wouldn't know a lug wrench if you beat them upside the head with one. Attempting to find someone to look for stock or get the most basic of cogent reply is impossible. And their customer service sucks sweaty donkey balls. God help you if you need to return something.

All XXX Video, this little place here. They don't do nearly a good enough job cleaning the jizz out of the booths from the last guy there.

They are a model of efficiency. But from a consumer standpoint they do me no favors. Less choices for the consumer is not the pinnacle of capitalism, it is a side effect of it.
I'll second Wal-Mart. I'd have a hard time shopping there just based on the way they treat employees and the way they act at the corporate level. But they don't even make it a hard decision with the shitty state of their stores. No to mention their stupid employees. But then again with the way they are paid and treated they have no incentive to be even adequate.

The thing is, you make a choice to work at Wal-Mart. There's plenty of retail jobs out there and plenty of gigs that will treat you better.
That said, I don't like Wal-Mart for the clientele. I always get a white trash vibe going in there. The only reason I will shop in there is if there is a good special on groceries or something. Otherwise, I'm strictly target/wegman's/trader joe's/shop-rite for Groceries.

Lube Express and Jiffy Lube. The employees there are human garbage.

Ugh, Jiffy Lube. They left my oil plug out after an oil change. Luckily I notice the car acting up on the way home. I bring my car to a real mechanic for oil changes now and it is actually cheaper than Jiffy Lube.

Amen.
Use your local mechanics.
The chain store mentality is evil incarnate.

I hate Albertson's -- grocery chain. They sort of screwed me out of a job so I try not to give them my money. There is nothing they can do to change my feelings toward them.

+1. It is the anus of any town. I really started hating it when, shortly after 9/11, there was a line of hayseeds buying U.S. flag memorabilia. My issue arose when I examined all the memorabilia on the patriot shelf and found that most of it was made in China. It's supposed the be this great American success story, but just about everything in that store is made outside of our country and contributes to the all that is wrong with us. Only in a world this shitty could you even try to say this is a good store and keep a straight face.

Any pharmacy chain - Rite Aid, Walgreens, etc.
It always takes forever to check out of there with your gum and chapstick.
Even though I do have to go there from time to time, GameStop.
NO I DON'T WANT TO PREORDER ANYTHING. AND I DON'T WANT TO SUBSCRIBE TO GAME INFORMER. AND I DON'T NEED A WARRANTY ON MY GAME YOU FUCKSTICKS!

That's a valid argument in a metropolitan area. However that argument makes no sense in small town America.
Walmart is the unfortunate downside of capitalism. Its all of our choice whether to support it with our patronage or not. Personally, I refuse.

The thing is, though, Walmarts in small towns are usually really great stores. Clean, friendly staff, knowledgeable. That's because in many towns, those jobs are some of the best around.
By contrast, in a city, Wal-Mart hires the scum of the earth.

walmart...
I try my hardest to never shop there. Once in awhile I will stop after work around midnight because Target is already closed...anyhow...I do not care for the typical customer at walmart. When I will go there at midnight many times I see parents toting their crying children around the store yelling at them to be quiet. The poor kids just want to go to bed!!
Macy's
I loved this store when it was Dayton's....for some reason (at least in the city near us) the store has really gone down hill. If I am going to pay more money for clothing or what have you there, I would like the store to look ritzier.
