I Miss all the Interns

Is there a reason we don't hear them much on the air anymore? I know we have heard Jackie a few times now, but I enjoyed having the weird interns in and everyone just destroying them. Listening to the "New Rory" stuff on WJFK lately with Cigar Sid, and I wish we had more characters on the show.

My favorite R&F shows are when there seems to be a huge cast of characters on the show, and they just rip them, and act like everything they do is terrible. Bitz making that great/terrible radio advertisement is still one of my favorite moments.

oh man i loved cigar sid and that whole intern gang. I also liked when wonderboy was an intern.

if i had to guess, I would assume SiriusXM is more strict about what those interns can do on the air, and i am sure R&F have to be careful what they say to them

The interns have always been the best. I wonder if the same kids just aren't applying for the positions or if it's a corporate thing maybe. I remember one show I listened to when Tuddle was in from Florida and ron and fez flair chopped him so hard he was fighting back tears! I'm guessing this kind of thing isn't really going to cut it anymore.

Maybe it's a satellite radio thing too. When they were on WNEW and WJFK they probably had a bigger pool of local kids applying who would do almost anything for the show. These days it just doesn't seem to be like that. Which is a shame because theres been so many fantastic bits with interns over the years.

Maybe it's time we went old school and took someone out frighty fright style!

I loved when Ron and Fez would playact as the interns. Ron played Cigar Sid and Fez was the Giant store manager. Oh man, it was great.
