I feel like an awful human being

On my way to work this evening (Night Shift) My wife called crying telling me that our pet rabbit has taken a bad turn (Struggling to move shaking not eating) I can't call out of work and no clinics around me are 24 hours (The ones that do don't do rabbits). I feel like I should have turned the car around immediately but I had to work. I'm almost expecting to come home to a dead bunny now and I feel somehow it's my fault like I should have done more. I just needed to vent

she seems like she was pretty far along, so there wasnt probably much you could do for her. however, i understand that you would have wanted to be there for her last moments.

I am not a huge animal lover and will never understand why people love there animals that much...... but my girlfriend loves her cats and if any of them die she would be heartbroken. Sorry for your loss. Its not your fault. Sometimes crap happens
