We don't have our laptop and word processors with us all the time...yet, and sometimes we must rely on primitive tools to help us record information. Do any of you have a favorite type of pen/pencil/other?

I personally like the Zebra mechanical pencils.

I like pencils, but they have to be sharp...

Certain pens are better than others, they write smoother...I just couldn't tell you the different manufacturers ...

I don't know if they make them anymore, but I hate those pencils that look like pens. They always break.

I got a Pilot Dr. Grip that I like.

I must admit that, whereever I work, I'm the only consultant with his own set of Spiderman crayons. Don't get to use them much, but they're always there if I need them.

To reply to this post, which seems only to exist to build up post counts, you would have to be a "writing tool".
Oops, I replied, didn't I...LOL:)

Just a simple Bic Round Stic Fine point is my favorite. The tip is not as thin as most other fine points, and they never smudge.

EDIT: MUST be black ink. I DESPISE blue ink. I don't know why.

i use "spur of the moment" tools; which consist whatever writing utencil is around me (pen, pencil, crayon, etc) and anything to write on, most of my idea's just come "right off the cuff" as they say, then i go home, start a story and never finish it, i have about 10 projects that are only half done, i suffer from EXTREME writers block

I use the free pens I accumulated from 2 years working with college reps and the gazillion pencils I have from my current job. I detest buying things.

I'm hesitant to form an attachemnt with any type of pen cause I must have lost thousands of pens in my life. Any favorite pen would soon disappear like all my other writing implements.

Believe it or not. I still have an old Schaeffer fountain pen that I received for high school graduation. I still use it for the occasional letter!
