What annoyed me about Family Circus is that they were such a sickeningly sweet perfect ward and june cleaver group of shitbags and that was likely their target demo. When I was about 13 I babysat for a family in the neighborhood who LOVED the cartoon. I mean they had their fridge plastered with newspaper cutouts, had the books in their family room, I think they even had a Family Circus game. They were born again christians who took their cult a little to seriously and did nothing but preach preach preach. Kids were allowed 1 hour of TV a week (from a B&W tv no less the dad kept locked up in his office), weren't allowed to see anything in the way of newspapers, books, magazines, etc. that their parents didn't pre-approve, their school was run by their church and as you might expect were fucking demonic. Only good thing is the parents paid well and I got to put the little fuckers to bed at 7:00.
