I'm gonna cut my hair and I need style suggestions.

I've grown a little tired of just having my hair in a ponytail for a long time. I have really resisted cutting my hair more than the occasional trim, but I think it's time to do something different with it.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a men's hairstyle that is fairly low maintenance but isn't just that normal square back, part to the side 1950's boy's haircut.

No mullets, no pics of Penn Gillette or Horatio Sans pics plz. I get it.

Crew cut #1 at the barber shop.
I went eight years without a hair cut and then a friend got the big C and lost her hair so I donated my hair for cancer wigs and have not since grown my hair out.
So much easier to maintain and less shampoo use.

i know this is a weird question but do you have any guy friends who have good haircuts? if so ask them where they go.

if you can get a good stylist recommended to you, THEY will suggest what cut is best for your hair and face shape. some people will just do what you ask but you want someone who will tell you "no, that will look bad" like my stylist does. you might want to ask around. that is my best suggestion because bringing in a picture doesn't usually work.

My one friend has above shoulder length hair and it looks OK but I don't really want that look. Another friend just had me cut all the hair on his head down to about 1 1/4" after having a long pony tail too. It looks fine on him but again, not really the look I want to go for.

Moe - the problem is most of us don't have a hair style. I just tell the woman to buzz the sides with a #4 and scissor cut the top. Put some gel in it and mess it up. That's it. That's what men do. Try not to over think it.
