First let me state some factual information before defensive parents start throwing stones at me.

- We do not have children.
- We have plenty of other friends who do have children. We all get along just fine.
- We would have children already but we are having troubles and I wanted to wait until we are in a better state financially first.

One of our closest friends has become the parent from hell. She is overly protective, to the point where she cannot leave to take a piss without the kid following her. She spoils her rotten, they don't even have their own apartment and stay with 10 people in her mother in laws place, yet they bought their daughter a $450 powerwheel for her birthday. She talks too her child like she is an adult, and when we are having adult conversations this 5 year old has an opinion which she must express or else she'll cry. Really. In public she dresses like a slob, because she's a "Mom" and thats just how it is. I don't remember my mom walking around like the filthy homeless but whatever.

The answer to everything we say is "Wait until you have kids" or "You don't have kids so you don't know."

My Wife is hurt by these comments but her friend doesn't seem to care.

Or other friends with kids are fine. We all go out, with AND without the kids. Sometimes they like too be around us because we DON'T have kids so they can be adults.

Is there a point where your just not always "right" as the parent? Can you obsess over your child too much? Aren't you suppose to be able to separate being a parent and being a friend?

Yes to all of those. Most parents aren't like that. Unfortunately, every one of us parents knows someone exactly like that. She was probably a drama queen before she had kids and now she is just continuing to do what she does best in order to keep the attention focused upon her. Trust me, if you are noticing this, everyone is noticing this. Soon she'll be wondering why she's not invited to things anymore.

She's doing that kid no favors. Good chance he'll grow up into an insufferable brat but he'll always be "Mommy's little angel".

Friendships don't have to last forever. Fuck her.

Yes she was a drama queen beforehand. It just gets us mad because her reason will always be " you hate my kid" when its more like we hate YOU with your kid.

What's worse is she became a flake since giving birth. I completely understand not wanting to raise a kid on fatty foods etc. Still kids are kids but she won't even let us give the kid icecream. I respect it bur to me you should be more worried about getting a roof over your head and a fucking job. Instead of spending money on keen wa .

is she a 'single mom'?
they tend to make their kids
into a substitute husband + best friend
all rolled into one

Of course! Unless she wants to join in. Or watch the kid while it's going down.

I LOATHE parents like this.

Its not enough you are turning your kid into dependant little pussy, but you look down at others for raising their kids like normal people.

Im sure you get quite a look from her when asking if you can give her kid something like ice cream.

I dont even like having people like this in my house. Because Im not going to deprive my kids of a treat because you treat yours like a crystal vase. But I do feel bad that their kid has to sit there and watch mine enjoying themselves while they cant have any.

My only solace is knowing that 18 years down the line, mommys little angel is going to be in college either getting gangbanged by the basketball team or doing lines of cat tranquilizer off a hookers asshole because they dont know how to control themselves once they have a small taste of freedom.

She talks too her child like she is an adult

Actually, this isn't a bad thing. It helps children learn proper speech patterns faster. All the "ooohing", "aaahhing" and "baby talk" to a child slows the process down.

But all the other stuff you mentioned is revolting.

This is true. BUT when all the adults are having a conversation she shouldnt be allowed to sit there and chime in. Send her ass to the kids table.

Yeah to clarify the conversations are about how her sister, the kids aunt, is a slut etc. We've noticed the kid is laughing and repeating some of the stuff being said. When my wife told her maybe we should watch what we say, she replied "Oh she doesn't repeat anything."

One story the Mom was telling was getting bad so she stopped, the kid said "Mom, finish the story."

Another great tale was; My wife the kid and Mom were at my Sister-in-laws house. My Niece, who is 2 going on 3 was acting crazy (as 2 yr old do). She was getting out of line and my sister in law stopped her told her "Stop." and smacked her hand. It was a consequence to an action. No big deal.

Later in the car the Mom said to her Kid "See I'll leave your there, they BEAT their kids.":wallbash:

I hope someday you're able to have kids so you can be dissected the same way. Oh but I'm sure you'll get it all right, seeing as it's so fucking easy.

When did people turn into such pussies on here that we can't criticize others?

Looks like I hit a nerve.

I won't get it right but I'll get it better.

I agree with most of the things you said but if the parents have a special diet for the kid you should respect it.
