Is anybody planning to watch the last AS THE WORLD TURNS episode on CBS on September 17?
The show will go off after 54 years on TV. The last episode will include Don Hastings as Robert "Bob" Hughes. He holds the record for portraying the longest continuous acting role in the history of television.
The last episode will be the 13,858th. This is the last remaining Proctor and Gamble produced "soap opera" on television. It debuted in 1963 and is the longest running serial in America. After it goes off, the longest running serial in TV history will be the British CORONATION STREET, which still airs.
This is definitely a television event, and I will be there with tears in my eyes. Anybody else joining in?
