We have the windows open tonight since it is really cool outside, and I am watching football. All of a sudden I hear two airhorns go off outside at 11:10 pm. I turn to my GF and say "Well looks like the Phillies won and moved onto the NLCS".
She thought about it for a moment and then realized how I deduced it.
Then pops up the BREAKING NEWS about the Phillies win to move onto the next round.
Now the damn banners will be going up all over the homes and on the front lawns.
It's so fucking annoying.
Just making my confession.
Thanks.

Now you know what its like with all the Yankee fans up north. No fans are more annoying then Yankee fans from North NJ and NY, well maybe Phillies fans from South Jersey and Philly are just as bad!!!

No way. Sorry man but I would say one out of every 100 houses in north NJ would have a Yankees banner hanging from their house for the whole block to see who they root for.
Down here? One out of every 4 houses.
And I have NEVER heard air horns go off when the Yanks win the world series as I watch from my house/apartment.
I heard it last year when Philly won every round (except the big one of course) and it happens again here.
yes Yankees fans can be arrogant (we can afford to be sometimes) as would any sports fan but they take it to the next level and beyond here.

Explain how Yanks fans are 10 times worse? you're just pissed they keep winning and your team doesn't.
I want examples of the worse behavior of Yanks fans vs. Philly fans. Let's go. You first.

trying living in a University of Georgia environment. I use to be apart of the "Go Dawgs! Sic'em!!" shit but I just can't stand it....most of the alumni is just a bunch of cocksmoking douchebags that wear golf shirts and act like pricks.

Where do you live in Philly? Not the address, the neighborhood. South Philly? Center City? Northeast? Just curious.
Youre mad because you heard 2 airhorns after the Phils swept the NLDS? LMAO Thats nothing. Most fans dont care about that anymore. Thats just a nice clap for a job well done. The next 2 series is when the fans really celebrate. Besides, whats 2 airhorns at 11pm? What are you 70?
The best is youre pissed off to see banners and posters in peoples houses supporting their team. Isnt that what fans do? Show support of their team?

Oh. What part of South Jersey then? Im surprised you even heard anything. I live in the part of South Jersey where all transplanted South Philly people move to. Its not cheap, its about 80% Italian, and its really nice. Its also a 15 minute ride to Philly and a 30 minute drive to AC. Perfect.
But you dont see too much celebrating like that in Jersey usually. Youll see the flags and posters in the windows and stuff, but its not like in the city. Thats why I go down there for every clincher. 2008 was one of the greatest celebrations ever.

Just outside of Cherry Hill. I don't mind showing support for your team but talk about overkill!
When the Phill's made it to the world series there were people setting off fireworks, airhorns and car alarms. All at 12am (or close to) You must be near Winslow if you're 30 mins from AC. Nice area's there.

Now I can understand college towns getting like that. Almost ALL of them, no matter what school, has that environment. That I would get behind. If you're old enough to get annoyed with college towns having alot of school spirit I suggest you think about moving!
But I will admit after a couple of years dealing with it, it might rub me the wrong way eventually also.

Other side of the expressway in Washington Twp.
Im surprise you see alot of it over there. I dont think its anything compared to South Philly, I mean, people come out banging pots and pans, lighting fireworks and cheering, of course the stadium is right there so...
I think its fun though. I remember doing it as a kid in 80 and 83 and thought it was just so cool.

A bit off topic, but I was surprised to learn how non ravenous Baltimore Ravens fans are. A friend of mine was at Sunday's game. He said the fans were barely excited when the Ravens would score. I always assumed they would be more exuberant there.

You're kidding right. You do realize I live in the metro area and listen to ny media daily like you do in Philly. It's the same thing up here for a fan out of area and I think all you have to do is listen to the radio or fans at bars, in public and of course the stadium to hear how idiotic they can be. If you think yank fans are civil and logical you are insane. It's not all in any fan base, but the yanks have the added benefit of that ny attitude as if they themselves actually won anything and of course YEARS of picking up bandwagon fans versus Philly fans being a close nit city with a small town feel. Sure they're insane too in a different way, but I love that type of crazy compared to some douche screaming boston sucks and 27 in my face when I have a Toronto cap at the NY Yank stadium or any NJ mall.

Not from me, they had one pitcher. So no, wrong. They were surely the dog in that series, not so much if they face off this year.

i see boston caps all the time and have never once seen anyone get screamed at for it in public. mostly, you thinks it's a douche and ignore it.
There is nothing worse than living in the DC area during football season. Win or lose, the Redskins coverage is sickening. Overkill is an understatement. It's what made me hate football.
And I don't care that this is a "football town" One of the stories on the news the other day was about a game from 25 years ago.

This...
Its kinda like when you have a T.O. type on your team, you love him if hes yours and you hate him if hes on another team. Same thing here. I love the Philly fans when it comes to the Phillies, hate them when it comes to the Eagles or Flyers. Same fans but when our rooting interests correspond they're the best when they don't, well go to youtube and type in Bill Burr Philadelphia...

Angelos was far from greedy. If anything, he spent in a very wild idiotic fashion but greedy not so much. At least he didn't help fuck 20 other teams (and in turn the competition of MLB) in the process while ACTUALLY being greedy and setting the stage for a ridiculously unbalanced league.

They did it again. The "preview" for this week's matchup for the Colts was a about a Skins-Colts game from the mid-90s.
I hate this fucking team.

well let's be fair, if the Knicks win the NBA Championship this year it has to be one component or sign of the apocalypse. Car flipping will be the LEAST of our worries. I just hope there won't be any airhorns! :glurps:

go check the UFO thread, apparently some guy said they were gonna fly around over major cities to show us they are here and not to be worried, and then there is a couple picks and videos and a ton of sighting reports from manhattan. Looks like maybe 10 of em in 1 video
