My hip feels out if it's socket

Sometimes when I get into bed, I will lay face up for a while, and a few moments later, my hip will kind of fix it's own alignment. Usually it makes a popping noise and it feels good as it goes back on, although I was unaware it was out.
But sometimes, like now, it feels like it is out of joint and wants to pop into place, but does not.
It's bothering me!

which way is your knee pointing?Because if your knee is rotated inward, its a sign of a hip dislocation . Do you have any pain on walking?
