Feel free to show me all of the threads I've started ranting about random political issues that I just then keep posting in as if this is my personal political blog!!! Surely you're not blind, eh, jauble?? You really think there are people here besides WF doing what he does in this forum??? Let's see the examples!!!
From what I read in this thread your point is "I'm progressive fuck the right" and his is "I am right fuck the liberals"

The only thing I'm sure I'm correct about is how WF keeps arguing against points that nobody here made!!! Where did anyone here ever say that nobody on the Left says anything hateful??? Yet that's what he keeps arguing!!!

You encourage it though. You want to argue by borrowing terms like progressive and agitating someone who you clearly disagree with on a fundamental level.
I believe it is more caused by the economy and the media hype.
Despite a common belief that the attempted assassination of a U.S. politician is a rare event that happens once in a generation, a U.S. historian says it is a tradition that has reared its head whenever the country is in a period of social unrest and radical change.
Joseph Palermo, an expert on political history at California State University in Sacramento, said the struggling U.S. economy, combined with the polarizing hype created by the 24-hour news cycle, means conditions were ripe for the shooting of a congresswoman in Arizona on Saturday.
"People are very quick to try and pretend that the political assassination is very rare," he said in an interview with Postmedia News. "Sadly, the truth is, it's a very common element of any society, especially the United States."
In a blog written for the Huffington Post during Barack Obama's presidential campaign in 2008 and nearly two years to the day before Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot, Palermo was eerily prescient in his argument that as U.S. political discourse turned "loud" and "vitriolic," an assassination attempt was not beyond the realm of possibility.
"When the political winds blow toward radical change our recent history shows that there's a tendency for popular leaders on the left to face some form of unexplained tragedy," he wrote at the time.
While Palermo said last weekend's tragedy is not necessarily a sign of things to come, he said most U.S. assassination attempts have occurred during periods of civil strife.
In the last two years, high unemployment and the rise of grassroots politics in the form of the Tea Party have upped the ante in a country that has always seen firm lines drawn between the left and the right.
Palermo said the most recent example of a period of "unrest was the 1960s, when President John F. Kennedy, his presidential candidate brother Robert and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. were all slain.
Other periods where politically motivated killings rose were in the years after the U.S. Civil War, which claimed the life of President Abraham Lincoln, and during the Great Depression of the 1930s.
Two other U.S. presidents -James Garfield in 1881 and William McKinley in 1901 - have been assassinated, and many of the others have survived attempts on their lives, or have seen plots to kill them foiled, including Obama.
And Palermo said countless other politicians, including governors, senators, other federal and state legislators, mayors and civic leaders have been attacked.
"It shouldn't be seen as anything out of the ordinary, unfortunately," he said.

Hows your mom these days?
Thank You for asking? That's very kind of you.
So like last week she went to the store to by me some mini bagel bites . I really like the mini bagel bites more than the original larger size. I think the peperoni to bagel ratio is much more in line. It makes for a more pizzaie taste which makes my computer snaking that much more enjoyable.
So, when she was at the store she meet this fella named Sam. He's the butcher at the IGA (International Grocery Association) . Sometimes I go there and he'll give me some sausage samples. I love to eat his sausage. But this time my Mom asked him to come over for dinner that night. It was really cool having Sam the butcher over for dinner. He brought some meat for us to eat and my Mom cooked it really well.
But later that night when I went into my room to watch Clash of the Titans I over heard them talking loudly in my Moms bedroom. I think that maybe Sam had been holding out on all the meat he brought, because my Mom kept asking him to give her more meat.
I never ever thought my Mom could eat so much!!!!
She is still dating Sam the butcher and I think that this time it'll last. I feel real good about this guy. After all, he has a great sausage!!!

But on the Daily Show tonight, Tim Pawlenty was on, to plug his book, and Stewart put this to him.
If George Bush did even more actions than Obama that could be seen as raising the deficit (Medicare D) , or expanding government power(Homeland Security) , how come we never heard of tyranny & seize back our govenment then?
Pawlenty was just "uh, uh , uh" dumbstruck

The sad thing about the people from the tea party speaking, was that I can tell you with complete confidence that remarks like that aren't the kind of remarks that are being said by everyone who is affiliated with the movement.
And the remarks by the one reporter regarding the suspect being a left-wing pothead was the sentiment expressed by that fellow student of the shooter.
I saw one on the news (the hair dyed red guy) and he never said that.

It's a good question and if Pawlenty had any balls he'd ask where all the anti-war protestors have gone?
Where have all the screaming Dick Cheney wants to take your rights man people have gone?
Unless you are completely stupid you don't need John Stewart to point out the hyporcrisy in the politics.

The excessive screaming of we love you to Obama. Why was there a medicine man opening up? Giffords is Jewish and none of the victims were Indians. Tshirts too ? come on. Circus may be over the top. Other than that I agree with you.
Point 1 The President gave a well thought out and written speech, which from what I understand he actually helped write instead of his speechwriters crafting it. Extra credit for that.
Point 2 Wrong venue...Idiot U of A students, acted as if it was a pep rally.
Point 3 WTF with the Medicine Man opening up? That was indulgent and had no relevance or context to this event. Just Wierd. and the University President, two words. Who Cares? He and the good Sherriff should swap numbers so that they can stroke one another and not waste our time.
So I guess the argument that no one agrees with WF, ever, on anything is in fact false.

Just the opposite. Now if there had been a Rhabbi reading from the Torah or Christian Cleregy reading what The President did, then you would have had issues.
As it turned out the service morphed into The President acting as a Revival Preacher torwards the end. He just went into the direction the crowd guided him to. This was evident in the difference in pace and timber of his speech.

MEMORIAL ISSUE . May 2007
How best to memorialize the horrific events that took place on April 16, 2007? By showing the nation and the world what "Hokie spirit" really means.
Giovanni's words were met with thundering applause and a standing ovation. And then, entirely unexpectedly, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents alike began chanting, "Let's go, Hokies!" until their voices rang through the rafters of Cassell. That spontaneous outburst embodies the university's indomitable will and strength of character. (http://www.vtmagazine.vt.edu/memorial07/editor.html)

she's supposedly going to resign this week.
It's so sad every time I hear her talk. She's the same in her head and it has to be beyond frustrating and heartbreaking for her not to be able communicate.
Hopefully one day she recovers enough to make a comeback.

Gotta give her a lot of credit for stepping down and here's why.
Her health and recovery is much more important than holding any sort of power and being in political office. If she ran for reelection she would have won easily. What opponent would go after her record after all shes been thru. To be blunt she would have gotten elected on a sympathy vote.
She has made great progress after being shot at such a close range.
