Maybe the show Antiques Roadshow can be dedicated to Babs.

How about a new show "This old Louse"

Most of the country has a vendetta against hack progressive politicians always looking to subsidize with other peoples money. Endless wars, an economy on life support, rising commodities prices and this bloated windbag is worrying about garbage like this.

I always anticipate WF's discussion on urban issues or on Hispanics and immigrants- he clearly speaks from a position of authority. He has spent much of his adult life working with those people, he knows them well, and he has spent much time studying their histories, as well as their social and economic strengths and weaknesses.

(If you think he is just some :furious: guy sitting in front of his computer, looking for arguments (that he apparently doesn't even realize were formulated by corporate funded think tanks) on the internet that support his world view, and feeling wronged by the idiots of the world and the lazy crap they support... you'd be very wrong.)

Corporate think tanks youre so predictable.

When you import poverty you get more poverty. That can not be disputed. Then the poverty pimps in Congress just keep handing money to them so they can get the ignorant masses to keep supporting them, The recipient class doesnt pay for any of it so they always vote themselves an increase.

Criticism

The liberal watchdog group, Media Matters has criticized some of Sowell's remarks[53] such as a comparison Sowell made between President Barack Obama and Adolf Hitler in an editorial for Investor's Business Daily[54][55] because Obama created a relief fund for the victims of the BP oil spill. Sowell was also criticized for an editorial in which he stated Democrats were playing the Race card and how he compared it to "mass slaughters of the Tutsis by the Hutus in Rwanda,".[56][57]
[edit] Economic criticism

The work of many economists such as Nobel laureate Amartya Sen often contradict Sowell's claims of government interference on the issue of price gouging.[58] Others such as Nobel laureate Milton Friedman,[59] International Monetary Fund adviser Barry Eichengreen[60], and historical economist Charles P. Kindleberger[61] contradict arguments about protectionism, specifically the idea that the Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act caused the Great Depression. In addition, some studies claim that welfare systems often reduce poverty,[62][63] contrary to Sowell's claim that welfare generates poverty.

Reviewing Sowell's 1984 book Civil Rights: Rhetoric or Reality?, University of Chicago sociologist William Julius Wilson said that Sowell did not explore "reasonable alternative explanations and hypotheses" in his critiques of affirmative action. For instance, regarding Sowell's theory that women are underrepresented in fields like law and engineering because of the heavy responsibilities of marriage such as childrearing and other household work: "A plausible alternative to Mr. Sowell's hypothesis on women's pay differentials and occupational segregation is that women are virtually excluded from many desirable positions and therefore crowd into obtainable occupations."[64]

GREAT!

Finding areas of agreement is great.

Exact numbers are hard to find, but these are some rough estimates.... The cost of the wars is somewhere around $200,000 million annually. (The defense budget somewhere around $700,000 million this year.) The federal contribution to the PBS was about $4 million (17% of 25$ million.) So you agree at some level on something that is 50,000X greater annually than something else. Yet you still say the following about Boxer:

It is at some level an area of agreement, and it is an issue that is 50,000X more important to your bottom line of federal government spending. Yet you focus on the 0.002% and let that get you so worked up (:furious:) that you feel the need to call someone a "cunt."

You said you and Boxer "agree that war spending is out of control." And you know the defense budget is much much greater than PBS, CPS, or WIC. Why not focus on the bigger issues, that are also areas of agreement, rather than getting so worked up over those other things.

(Disclaimer- Admittedly, I also wouldn't want funding cut from things like CPS and WIC. From PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, those services are not institutionally wasting money, and are providing services that I couldn't imagine a society not wanting. But if someone wants to disagree, there are 2 issues- 1) it is still a much smaller contribution to the deficit (but everything counts), and 2) I'd need to see direct evidence of institutional waste (as opposed to some bad individuals.)

(Last point- did my head explode, or did I give a reasoned response?)

Yes Boxer is a cunt for that bitchy attitude she had towards the general when she said don't call me ma'am. She worked so hard to become a Senator. The rest of the country is going to have to work hard to bail out that 3rd world cesspool of a State she crawled out of.

Privatize them and let them compete with other channels.

I'd call her a cunt!!

(Yes I know you might disagree about the time scale over which the military needs to withdraw from Iraq/Afgan- but you can't disagree that she is from the same party that was charged with saying "Wrong war, Wrong time.")

It is at some level an area of agreement, and it is an issue that is 50,000X more important to your bottom line of federal government spending. Yet you focus on the 0.002% and let that get you so worked up () that you feel the need to call someone a "cunt."

I tried everyone, but the change of direction, slogans, etc was going to have to occur at some point.

WF, you know I've tried. I've acknowledged the strengths of your theoretical arguments. I've tried numerous times to engage with you on specific issues. I think you have 2 general issues- 1. your points have merit, but you should consider not having to always stick to the slogans to the bitter end (all government, all regulations, etc are always inherently bad), and 2. you should really think through the real world consequences of your hard line stances (or better yet, go into the community and live life.)
