Please watch this. He's so on-point, so concise with his points. It sounds like a PHD speaking to 3 cavemen:

I love that clip.
Yep. Zappa was more in tune and focused than any of those windbag pundits, back in '86 AND today.

The guy with the glasses from the Wash times is such a coward wanting gov't to protect him from explecit lyrics etc. Novak had some issues but at least he had a decent debate with Zappa,

Genius maybe, but I bet Dweezle and Moon Unit would question his ability to name a baby..

Zappa was not a progressive either . He said he was a conservative, more of a Ron Paul type

I've seen this video over a dozen times, and it never gets old for me. My favorite exchange:
Lofton: How much money have you made peddling this filth?
Zappa: Millions of dollars!

Will you progress to stop posting progressive with everything? Where does he state he was conservative? He never struck me as being right wing however.

Right around 3:10-3:20 in he stated he was a conservative.
Now that doesn't mean he's a Huckabee type, it means he is more of a libertarian. Unfortunately the evangelicals have hijacked the meaning of being a conservative.

Before you get too excited about the idea of Zappa being a conservative, he was definitely closer to the left than the right (by today's standards anyway) and identified himself as a Democrat most of his life. He fucking hated Reagan.

Look how the Democratic party has gone off the deep end. Same thing for the GOP Both are worshippers of big government but in different ways
I dont see people like Bush, Huckabee and the neo cons as actual conservatives.

It is a thread about Zappa's appearance on CROSSFIRE, for goodness sakes!

Sometimes I wonder what his take would be on modern politics at times. It did hold his interest back then.
