a whole new thread started about a hacked twitter account.

but of course nothing about a politician using helicopter flights to go to his kid's game and a meeting with donors. I guess nothing about that waste of tax-payer money because it was done by Ron Paul's Republican party.

Hipocrisy.

Christie disembarked from the helicopter and got into a black car with tinted windows that drove him about a 100 yards to the baseball field.

i remember when Jim Florio or whatever first bought that helicopter. I was a kid and i remember Whitman RUINING him in political ads over the price of that thing.

Also, It always made me laugh about needing a helicopter. In Cali, a governor might need to be somewhere in a couple hours and have to take a heli. In NJ, you can get across the entire state in like 3 hours in any direction. Get in your car you tool

By reimburse, you mean only because of a political mess (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/44/post/gov-christies-choppy-ride/2011/06/02/AGCGGXHH_blog.html):

Christie initially refused to reimburse the state for the rides. But a two-day firestorm of criticism from left and right proved overwhelming. A Star-Ledger online poll showed 67 percent of readers thought the chopper ride “inappropriate.”

And by "he will reimburse the state", you mean he and the Republican Party of New Jersey (http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-06-02/christie-s-party-helps-repay-new-jersey-for-two-copter-trips.html):

New Jersey Republicans and Chris Christie said they reimbursed $3,383.79 to taxpayers for the governor’s use of a police helicopter to travel to two baseball games that included his son.

------

The Republican party delivered a $1,232.29 check today to the Statehouse for the Montvale-to-Princeton leg of the May 31 trip, Rick Gorka, a spokesman for its state committee, said in a telephone interview. Christie paid $1,232.30 for the Trenton-to- Montvale part of the trip, and $919.20 for a flight to a May 27 ballgame, Gorka said.

Clearly Governor Christie is a man of conviction, oh wait...

Oh my god, WF. Are you fucking kidding me? You don't see the difference in these?

Obama going to a B'way show cost the tax payers money BECAUSE HE'S THE PRESIDENT. Anything he does will cost the tax payer money, do you expect him to sit home all day? Do you think EVERY OTHER FUCKING PRESIDENT didn't do extra-curricular activities that didn't cost the tax payer money for security detail, etc?

And the fly over displayed incompetence, which is totally different from STEALING. And just so you know, I work in the building closest to the airplane in the photo you posted. I had to evacuate it that day AND I'm a NYC tax payer, so if ANYONE was affected by that moronic decision to fly those aircrafts without notifying authorities it was ME.

What Christie did was INDEFENSIBLE and you know it. i know you want him to be your hero for being anti-big government, but like many others who share a Randian philosophy, he is a hypocrite. Big Government is bad, unless it helps him. We should all fend for ourselves, until we need help outside our means. He looks like the biggest asshole ever because of this.

There is a huge difference. The president of the United States can not go anywhere without protection or flying via air force one. Do you think Bush didnt take any personal trips while he was president? Bush barely worked and was barely in DC he was in Texas or away from DC on vacation more then any president ever! Every time he flew somewhere he flew air force 1 and or the air force helicopter. Even if Obama wanted to fly us airways he couldnt.

As for fatty. I do think he has done a good job in NJ so far even though I didnt vote for him. But he was wrong here. He can drive himself anywhere he wants. He could hop in his car right now and drive his fat ass to Burger King and get a 1/2 dozen whoppers if he wanted without security. If he worked for a a private company then I wouldnt give 2 shits if he did this but he works for the people and hes not the president. He was busy working so too bad dont go to your kids game if the job takes too much time. If you are late be late like the rest of us. What he so called "paid back" probably doesnt even equal the fuel cost for all his personal trips.

To even compare Obama as president and Christie as Gov and what they did is almost as stupid as people actually voting for Bush!

Here is the difference. See if you can follow.

What Christie did was use taxpayer money for purely personal issues.

What "Emperor Obama" and Pelosi have done with the stimulus money was with the goal of improving the US economy. Yes, I know you strongly disagree with this economic theory- and that is fine and reasonable. But their use in that case for what they thought was in the best interest of the country, not for personal trips.

There is also a connection between this story and the Wiener story... hypocrisy.

Christie makes his name from being anti-government spending, and actually cuts good services for those less fortunate among us. So when he does this, it smells of hypocrisy.

The weiner case (which I still don't know if it isn't hacking, but I haven't really paid attention to it) is different than the republican scandals- ie. Larry Craig. Those people proclaim anti-gay, pro-marriage, christian coallition, holier than thou positions, so when they do it, it smells of hypocrisy.

Well, he did get into just a bit of trouble, but took his punishment:

In 1985 Frank was still closeted. That year he hired Steve Gobie, a male prostitute, and they became friends more than sexual partners.[14] Frank housed Gobie and hired him with personal funds as an aide, housekeeper and driver and paid for his attorney and court-ordered psychiatrist.[14] In 1987 Frank kicked Gobie out after he was advised by his landlord that Gobie kept escorting despite the support and was doing so in the residence.[14][15] Later that year Gobie's friends convinced him he had a gay male version of Mayflower Madam, a TV movie they had been watching.[14] In 1989 Gobie tried to initiate a bidding war for the story between WUSA-TV (Channel 9), the Washington Times, and The Washington Post.[14] He then gave the story to The Washington Times for nothing, in hopes of getting a book contract.[15] Amid calls for an investigation Frank asked the House Ethics Committee to investigate his relationship "in order to insure that the public record is clear."[16] The Committee found no evidence that Frank had known of or been involved in the alleged illegal activity and dismissed all of Gobie's more scandalous claims; they recommended a reprimand for Frank using his congressional office to fix 33 of Gobie's parking tickets and for misstatements of fact in a memorandum relating to Gobie's criminal probation record.[17] The House voted 408–18 to reprimand Frank.[18][19]

So, basically, he tried to help out a lad down on his luck, and got fucked over. Stupid, deserving of censure, but the "brothel" that Dude! speaks of existed only in his masturbatory dreams.

And now here's the funny part:

The attempts to censure and expel Frank were led by Republican Larry Craig, whom Frank later criticized for hypocrisy after Craig's own arrest in 2007 for soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom.[20][21][

Typical Republican: rail against the homos while you're waiting in a bathroom to suck strange dick.

One more time. Dumb move by El Gordo but did it cost you anything? You live in NY.

Barack Obama is not the socialist you pretend he is. He's a rich person who believes in capitalism. There is absolutely no hypocrisy in him sending his children to a private school.

It did not cost me anything, but it just outlines what a lie his position is.

Furthermore, the real hypocrisy would actually be if he sent his kids to public school He is saying he wants to improve public education, not slash it and vilify it, like ron paul's republican party does. You may disagree with how he wants to improve it, and that is fine with me if you have that disagreement- fixing public education is not easy. But sending his kids to private school demonstrates his acknowledgment that things need to be done to improve public education.

now comes your "cut and paste" anti-teacher response...

Ive refered to him as a corporatist. He believes in crony capitalism i.e. GE Goldman Sachs and GM for example.

My words arent as harsh as Dr West's.

Walking away from them means taking away tax-payer money from public education.

Sending your kids to public school while still paying your taxes is not walking away from public education. Sending your kids to public education while saying we need to improve public education could really be construed as the hypocrisy.

now comes your cut-and-paste answer that money doesn't solve problems- but taking away money does solve problems

Being bankrolled by the largest teachers unions is walking away from public education. In DC where kids were given the opportunity to go to charter schools, your president put a stop to that. Even though not 1 dime was taken away from the DC school system

Waiting to hear how much more money needs to be pumped into the bloated dept of Education

Not 1 person has defended Rangel! Rangel should have stepped down!

i dont think it'll ever happen again as long as the country remains status quo

the last few prez had enough money to send them to private prior to becoming prez and all of the current hopefuls seem to have the means as well

so unless ww3 breaks out and nukes go off or the inevitable robot apocolypse happens and were fighting off terminators theyll always prob have the money to send them private
