Saw the commercials for it and he was railing about how anti corporate he is now. It looks like he was taking some covert shots at his old bosses over at GE. Well comcast owns a 10% stake in current .

In any case, same format, Last night was the debut there is no counterargument, its the same, "yes keith I agree". Should be interesting if Olby takes any viewers from O'Donnell

Same carnival, different network.

I'll give Olbermann one thing though: he's intellectually honest enough to tell everyone who and what he is. He told the world (or all 5 people watching Current) what his show is, and his point of view. He ain't news: he's talking about the news.

Will it work? Sure, we've got 7000 channels, why wouldn't it work?

I never liked Olberman. Always found him to be unfunny and more of a prick than anything else.

That guy sure can burn bridges. I guess the next stop for him is an internet show that no one will listen to.

He didn't even last a year. Hysterical.

I'm surprised that the ESPN book handled Olbermann so... delicately. I mean, it was rough on him, but they presented him as a tortured genius. But his body of work since then has just been career meltdown after career meltdown.

I just can't see him getting his own show again. Like, Current was the frigging toilet, a career rehab stop. And they were paying him 10 million a year!!

Dude!

I see a(slight ) parallel between Olberman & O & A. For all their ranting , there are only so many places to go. I saw this coming a month ago with Olberman, with him sitting in a jet black set , almost daring them to fire him. Now, the big question for him is ; Where do you go to pontificate when you've been kicked off the smallest channel you can get a big paycheck at ? I assume he'll end up on a podcast somewhere , like Beck. But I can't see that happening w O & A. Because for all of Opie's statements of "We're outta here in October" When he sees that he goes from making (probably) 3 mil a year to 200K from a podcast(or less) , he might just swallow his pride and re-sign( I know that's what Ant will do, cause he's Cumia-rich, and can't get what he wants on a measly salary from a podcast ).

Some more details about Olbermann's firing:

According to Mediaite, a source at Current TV said the former Countdown host went through eight different car services while working at the network, complaining that the drivers "smelled" and "talked to him."

Furthermore, though Olbermann's $250,000 studio was built to his exact specifications, he allegedly refused to use the set when there were lighting problems back in December. Not only that, but he refused to let guest hosts use the elaborate studio.

Current TV is also claiming that Olbermann refused to publicize the network and the show when he wasn't hosting his program (and he took about half of January and February off). They say he even barred his staff from sending out related Twitter updates, and prevented guest hosts from promoting the show.

I wouldn't blame him on that one bc I don't even know where that channel is, if I even have it.

However, that Beck/Olberman sitcom idea suggested at the bottom of your linked article has some legs! Scary that these two BOTH have huge audiences that hang on their every word too.

Even though I disagree with most of his views, Its a good show and he doesnt hesitate to call out the administration on a regular basis

Stephanie Miller is now on Current she has a show on Sirius left. Also watchable because it adds some humor to otherwise uptight progressive shows plus shes got some hotness to her.
