Without an elite qb I will essentially be platooning them and starting based on matchups (so needed a better backup that if I had Rodgers). we used to keep 3. about 5 years back we switched over to auction, so you keep everyone. you select 1-4 years for their contract. at the end of their contract you can extend 1-2 years (one time extension per player) for a 50% bump from their initial contract. so the most you can have is 6 years with any one player. you can cut players, but there is a cap hit depending on how many years remain in their contract. it's wicked complicated, but a shitload of fun.

Its not hard at all. I was in an auction baseball league for 10 years and we started like 22 players total 10 pitchers and 12 position players. We had a salary cap of $260. You bought your players and then every offseason before the next auction you could choose up to 6 players to keep. If you kept a guy his salary went up based on the contract you gave him but usually $4 increase. So if you had arod at $30 and that was a good price you kept him for $34 the next year! Not hard and very fun more fun then most leagues. You actually needed to use your brain when making picks, filling your roster and making trades. It also keeps owners active all year because you can trade to get cheap players back that you might want to protect the next year!

I've been in those higher cost leagues too, but they usually get too insane and angry. The payout is fine and a nice chunk of change for sure, but not 500 to get in as well which keeps the levity of it all. It's with my family and friends so I like it that way. The most someone usually loses is about 150 pending on moves and losses.

I used to do a box for 500 with some friends on w st. and the payout for the sb final score was HUGE. 500x100 and you can see just how much you'd be up for winning throughout the year. The way they worked it was the if you hit the final in the sunday or monday night game score each week you won about 250 (half your money back each time) and then the sb was the big one. If you hit the final score it's 25k, half was a big number too. If you hit the 1st or 3rd it was 2,500. I always hit for more than I put in, and the year the Bucs won the SB, I hit on the 1st qtr which was nice. I just missed the final too. That would have been sweet!

While I think Staz is a very good player, he's not as physical, plays on a lesser team (much improved this year) and their special teams aren't on the same level. I didn't really think there was anyone better.....everyone else on the list was pretty much the at the same spot for the year in points, and I know he can catch and run with the ball really well too, so I grabbed him up.

I don't actually need him to score that many points either.....If he can give me 7 extra I'd be happy, but i had to make a move because Forte is on a bye week. Actually the majority of my team was on a bye week which is why i had to make some moves. If I get big points out of Brady, Victor Cruz and the Giants D, I should be alright and its very possible all of that could happen. its also very possible that Shiancoe will have a big game the way he and Ponder have been playing. He's had 2 TDs since Ponder came in and he's been thrown to more this season with Ponder in than at any other point so far. I've also got no qualms about picking up a former Giants WR.
