Let's not act like the Eli of this year was present at any point other than this year. He has been over his career a very streaky QB. This is really the first complete season he has put together. And he rode the D to his first SB. He played well, not crazy, put the team on my back great, but well. It's not like he has a long history of putting the team on his back.

He's been one and done in the playoffs every year besides this year and 2007. Remember his 3 ints in the 23-0 loss versus Carolina? He was OK one of the times he got knocked out by the Eagles and awful the other time. His stats the 3 years he didn't win the SB? A combined:

41-74, 443 yards, 2 TDs and 6 INTs.

When he gets on a roll he gets on a roll. When he doesn't...... he really doesn't.

There's a lesson in this. If Eli wins one playoff game he's gonna win them all.

Well the Carolina game was his first year as starter
The first eagle game he played well and they culda won
Second eagle game was after plax shot himself and offensively they were fucked when they couldn't adjust on the fly without him

Not saying he gets a pass but there are circumstances that apply and u can do that for every team every qb

Teams win Super Bowls. Teams and coaches. Phillip Rivers has had spotty teams and horrendous coaching. Besides, Eli was average in that first Super Bowl and still won it because of the D. Ben Roethlisberger is a great QB and he was ATROCIOUS in the first Super Bowl he won. There's too many variables going on.

Did you watch the game? Gronk didnt misplay anything the ball was thrown short and Gronk was behind the ball and the defender. They both went for it and Gronk came back to it but it fell right in the hands of the LB because it was short.

But I do agree Ocho should have been involved some how. The old rule of knock it down is changing. the offenses are now leaving a big player a few yards short so that when knocked down and forward they have someone there. Maybe its time to go back to trying to int or maybe if possible knock it backwards out of the endzone rather then forward which keep the ball in play.
