They're full of shit saying those women wouldn't be shook up by that. Totally sounds like Saget, but they're making a good case for Louis.

but, the way they were dressed was asking for it...sounds like Saget (nobody would say Louie had a famous or loved sitcom...although I love it)

I doubt that the company made on-air talent pay for the trips to the Super Bowl or NBA All-Star game, so how fucking hard is it to send a show to Cleveland?

they weren't being very specific about what sirius was asking them to pay for.

I think they said that they were flying out on a thursday, doing a show from cleveland on friday, and staying over for Jimmy's show on saturday. If it was me I would expect sirius to pay for the flight both ways, hotel and food thursday and friday nights. Any expenses for saturday O&A should pick up themselves.

As far as their "protection" goes, I can see both sides of the argument so why not split it down the middle.

I like how they always say that they don't want to compare themselves to Howard but then they turn around and do just that. The reason Howard gets all the shit he does is that his agent negotiated a better deal. It's not our fault that your agent sucks and you didn't get more money or perks. If you weren't happy with the deal you got, you didn't have to sign it.

And before you start calling me a Howard troll let me say that I like O&A and Jimmy and haven't listened to Howard for over 15 years. But this constant complaining about how they are treated is just unbearable.

And yes I understand that when I don't like the show, I can change the channel. Unfortunately I am doing that more and more and it makes me sad.

Right after I posted that, they said that Sirius would pay for Thursday and Friday because they're doing a show from there, but they won't pay for Saturday. Kenny then said that to pay for everyone involved to stay one more day would be $1,500, an amount that a huge company should be able to pay for some of their top talent to stay for another host's comedy special. They were even saying they could easily pay it, but it's still a scumbag move for the company to not spend that little amount on them when they throw tons of money at any celebrity that has any interest at doing a show.

White guys like being angry, it's a self perpetuating topic so they dont have to do a lot of work. I also notice that radio guys feel like they're doing something just by talking about an issue, like by opening the conversation it absolves them from further action. Think about if you knew a guy who shouted about the same topic as much as O&A or Ron in your office or neighborhood instead of on the air, but never took another step, you'd think he was a lunatic.

You date the young chicks because they dont open their mouths to tell you what an asshole you sound like. Think about Anthony, the resources he has, the talent and the luck, at the end of the day he goes home to drink and watch TV all night probably 20 minutes away from the house he grew up in.

So, it has the same effect of a broken phone switch. It sends an obnoxious delayed version of your voice back at you. I used to have that happen all the time when I worked for a call center. When I asked the clients, "Look, there is a problem with the phone system that is making it difficult for me to talk to you. May I disconnect the call and call you back?" Typical client, "NO! Deal with it!" The main reason the relay is so annoying is that it sends the sound back at you at a rate louder than you delivered it. Being able to talk without interruption would require you to speak in short words otherwise your concentration gets buried in your own statements getting thrown back at you.

The problem is that this is not necessarily new scientific knowledge, just a new way of delivering a delayed sound relay to someone. The only kind of person it wouldn't work with are the hard of hearing.

I remember talking to their corporate guys, a couple of French hipsters (one of whom looked like Gordon Liu) and they mentioned that the guy who invented the MP3 format decided to collect royalties from device manufacturers using the MP3 format. The guy obtained the same lawyers they used to make sure compliancy was occurring. They dispatched some of their associates to several countries to collect royalties. The lawyers dispatched to China and Russia were murdered. Since then, the rights holders have began lobbying governments into the copyfight because they are too frightened to handle the problem directly. Most of the big copyright policies are a reaction to mob violence.

I have no idea whether or not Zimmerman is a nut, but...on a warm day when someone wearing a hoodie pulled up walks into your place of business you'd be nuts not to be especially aware.

Then you've never seen me, white as can be and uncomfortable in my own skin walking down the street in eighty degree weather wearing a hoodie and looking around nervously.

OPie, talking about his "brilliant" tweet about Cheney's heart:

"I lost 200 followers because of it. Literally." As in he saw how much his total followers dropped after the tweet.

30 seconds later:

Ant: "I have 90,000 followers. I didn't even know that, I don't pay attention to it."

Opie:"Yeah, I don't know how many followers I have either."

That's how Opie lives his life.

this "he shouldnt have been wearing a hoodie" statement remind anyone of how people talk to women who have been raped? "she shouldnt have worn that"

sounds similar to me

I hate it when I hear that

Hell - sterotypes have ruined my enjoyment of wearing a white sheet around town - and I am no racist or will ever be. Just like to wear a white sheet and hoodie sometimes but would'nt dare do it now.
Stupid clan ruined it.

hahaha....ok that's funny, but no body really goes out wearing a white sheet like a toga. Everyone and their mother owns and has worn a hooded sweatshirt.

Misteriosa
03-26-2012, 12:45 PM
yea.....say that about a woman who's been raped and people loose their fucking minds.

people do say that. i just find it funny that men are saying "what do you mean i have to watch what i wear before i go out? how am i supposed to guess how people are going to react to what im wearing? im not a mind reader!" but this is said to women every goddamned day. im just sitting back and watching the show.

and no, its not treyvon's "fault" that he was killed while wearing a hoodie. enough with this victim blaming nonsense.

We just have to be aware that the media has played it out that Hoodies and Timberlands are the thug clothing of choice just like rednecks and hill billies are wearing bib overalls.

I honestly would not wear my standard polo and kacki pants if I was going into the redneck country bar around here - unless I was looking for a fight.

It's funny, but when this came up during Ron and fez today, I was gonna post a pic with the only hoodie I've ever owned (a gift, incidentally) and decided against it because the only pic I have looks clannish.

I know they do. I think it's ridiculous that it gets said to women too. Saying what he said about the hoodie is like saying, "that woman shouldn't have worn that skirt two inches above her knee if she didn't want to get raped".

I don't care about your color, but if it's 80 degrees and you walk in "hoodie up" we'll be extra careful. Same thing we do if you come in pulled down hat and sunglasses, winter coat in summer.

I hate that on my xmp3 the lock button is the same as the power. You have to push it the same direction as off to unlock it. I tried to unlock it now and lost 15 minutes of stored show. :(

No. You didn't.

If you're lucky, it was during the 20 or 30 minutes playing Pat Benatar songs.

It would be funny if he asked him about getting laid all the time because he is an alpha, then talk about about Shaq could destroy him in a fight.
