It's about 20years old. The vent fan and blower operate, but it will not produce heat. To top it off, I cannot locate the Model on the interwebs, including the manufacturer website. Wtf do I do now? If I could find parts I might be able to fix this bitch. I definitely don't want to pay one of these ripoff artists to come fix it. My buddy just caught the furnace repairman at his place marking up a 40 dollar part to 300.

You don't have a service contract with anyone?
I have an older furnace (pre-WWII I think) that runs on oil and the oil company has repairmen they send over when ever I have trouble.

Just bring a big barrel into the house, fill it up with oily rags, and light the son of a bitch up. Problem solved.
And even better, you can just start throwing all your trash in there to keep the fire going, so that solves two problems at once.

Is pilot light staying lit? If not most times the thermocouple has failed. Easy cheap fix if you are at all handy.

Yeah, I had the same issue, that's what it sounds like.
When it happened to me, I called PSEG, they came out and repaired it, cost about 200 bucks, and they put it on my bill.
They gave me the option for a service plan, which is about 8 bucks a month.

I do shit my own way. After ruling out a vent motor failure, I pulled out the igniter, which was cracked. New one from Amazon: 18 bucks and a chilly 3-5 days.
