The whole philosophy of blaming the victim is pervasive in the US and needs to be stopped.

Can't handle the gleeful discussions about the Jersey Shore I encountered with the American and British fresh-out-of-college girls I met in Japan. The other thing that bothered me deeply is that so many girls would brag about how they never did any coursework in college and still graduated. When they had any trouble with students not paying attention, they would file complaints with the school or school board complaining about how the teachers weren't trying hard enough to keep their students compliant.
