Yeah I totally agree, people who want to hurt other people make no sense at all to me.
It is like the childhood fantasy where a boy might say, "If I were invisible, I would go around grabbing women's breasts and whatnot." That fantasy would last until the moment he sees the woman who is getting phantom groped begins crying.

In terms of murder, I know my personality. A person could murder my family and I took him or her out in self-defense. I would never think, "I am happy I took that person's life."

The act of stealing or taking something by force... I cannot talk myself into the act no matter how small the act. When I worked retail, I accidentally pocketed a remote control from a display TV and felt incredibly guilty when I discovered it when I was returning to bed at the end of the night.

I've wondered if the Government was involved in marriage during biblical times...seems to me that it was purely a religious-based contract

however, there wasn't much separation between church and state back then...so, wondering is probably a waste of time

The whole idea of a soul, as presented by the religious, bothers the hell out of me. The idea of brain damage, Alzheimer's Disease, and Dementia bother the living daylights out of me.

The whole, "you don't know if it is true or not" argument is incredibly childish. The Bible is like a Lotto quick pick from the dark ages that everyone is professing is a sure thing. I cannot imagine that a bunch of people who couldn't figure out some amazing things like germ theory or electricity figured out the afterlife and a connection with the maker.

Its ok. I dont take it personal. But that was a true story. I just weighed my options. The girl was 6. My son was 2. My daughter 4. So its either try to correct this little bitch and look like an idiot because Im a grown man trying to reason with a kid I dont know, or talk to her completely disinterested fat cow mother that was sitting across the restaurant. I picked option C. Anyone hits your brother, you hit them. I only told her to hit her as hard as she could because the girl was 6 and I wanted to make sure if she did it, she made it count. I dont care what problems I have to go thru, my kids will not grow up being punching bags.

I think he can tell it better than I, but the gist of the story as he told it was that some 6 year old was acting aggressive around his two year old so he demanded that his 4 year old be prepared to punch the 6 year old if things get heated. Because the last thing he wants to do is raise a wimp (or something to that effect).

My 2 year old and 4 year old were playing in a Dairy Queen playland with two 6 year old girls. (I know this because they had a very sweet conversation beforehand). Both girls fat mothers were across the restaurant not paying attention to their kids at all, which is cool except these kids were literally climbing on top of this thing, I was waiting for a concussion to be honest.

I usually dont get involved when I see them playing, except I hear one kid tell my 2 year old son she was gonna smack him right in the face. So I just called my daughter over and calmly whispered to her "Listen, if that kid hits your brother you better hit her as hard as you can."

Thats it. I wasnt trying to start a fight. I just want my kids to look out for each other. And I dont want my son hitting girls so I want my daughter to look out for him if a girl hits him. I know thats a crime these days. I shouldve just went up to 2 random strangers that didnt give a fuck what their kids were doing and tell them to watch their kids. That goes over so well.

I guess Im old fashioned but I was taught some life lessons that Im sure people would find crazy now. Like..."If someone hits you, you hit them back twice as hard, this way youre even for them hitting you, and they know not to do it again." And "If I find out you let someone hit your brother/sister/cousin and you didnt stick up for them, when you get home Im gonna hit YOU." Craziness I know but guess what, itll definitely keep you from being bullied.
