The Metallica - Guns tour was in '92 for the black album. We saw them at the meadowlands. Breuer's wrong, it made sense for gnr to close. As Lars (I think) said Metallica liked to finish early and be in a bar drunk by the time gnr went on. When we saw them, there was the expected delay and axl actually came out to let the crowd know he was shockingly there on time, set to go on, and they were having issues setting up for the band. Breuer was right tho, when gnr came out the young girls went nuts and the guys took it as a chance to sit down and relax. Great show.

Just read now that axl had wanted nirvana to open instead of faith no more, but contain turned them down. Fuck!

If I remember 20 years ago correctly, they didn't hit the stage until almost 10. By then I had been at the Meadowlands for about 9 hours. First tailgating, then saw all of Faith No More and Metallica.

I remember the long break between Metallica and GNR, and Axl joking he was not used to be being backstage waiting to go on.

They want to discourage people from buying tickets on the train because sometimes there are only a few minutes between stops and the conductor/ticket puncher woudn't have enough time to sell a ticket to everyone. The solution would be to hire more conductors but then you would have them sitting there doing nothing if there weren't a lot of riders.

It's really quite simple ... everytime the conductor collects cash (s)he then has to account for it and transfer it. Then it has to be accounted for on the other end, put together and then deposited. An extremely labor intensive process and certainly double the cost of a completely electronic one.

No, they probably have a drop-safe at their main office and one general cashier who reconciles and deposits the cash along with the much larger volume of cash collected at machines and by window agents. Heck, with the vast majority of their cash coming from the latter two sources, any money collected on a train is a fairly insignificant blip to their general cashier.

But not in their defense does anyone anywhere not charge more buying a ticket on the train than at a booth? Even tokens are cheaper and you actually pay right on the bus or trolly for those. Here's an annoying thing that happened... Ok, I understand that. Can you believe what a prick this guy is.... That I dont.


Punching the ticket is a lot more labor/training intensive than just walking down the aisle looking at transpasses and prepaid tickets. If you didnt sell tickets on the train you'd have less people working and wouldn't need any of the cash handling stuff they must have on board, like safes or whatever.

But yes, there's definately price gouging going on. But I'd rather prepay 5 and have access to automated machines. Septa is way more than that and the ticket offices are open for like 20 minutes a day.

I believe I've had whooping cough twice. Didnt go to a doctor, but I'd wake up and starts coughing fit which would escalate until I was unable to breathe for like 30-60 seconds, inducing panic. I agree that it is incongruous to take the line that all soldiers are heroes but that the war is wrong. I think if you believe if a war is wrong or unneccisary that some of that falls to the people fighting it. It's the greyist of grey areas.
