I just finished watching Carnivale season I and II and was getting ready to watch season III of a six season cycle ....
and there is no season III!!!!!
This reminds me of Twin Peaks and John from Cincinnati

For a charity the guy auctioned off his material about the overall structure of the series, you can read about it online.

At the time Carnivale was pulling in more viewers than The Wire, but was way more expensive, so they kept The Wire and axed Carnivale.
