You shouldve seen the fight right after this one. Between the guy from Iran and the guy from Cuba. I watched and couldnt even see what the Iranian fighter did wrong, but within a few minutes the referees "warned" him twice and DQed him. The announcers were going apeshit. Bith fighters were pissed and it ended with the Iranian taking his shit off, walking to the other corner and shaking the guys hand, and walking away from the ref who was trying to grab his hand so he could announce the winner. He just walked out in protest while the announcers applauded him for doing it. Just unreal.

Then last night she swatted at a coach who was trying to comfort her.

I was actively rooting for the other US girl to knock her off the podium, and hated to see that satisfied little smirk on the little russian bitch's face when she realized that she had still gotten a medal after her failure on the beam.

I just thought McKayla handled it pretty well last night.

I watched the team event and saw her smiling and cheering on her teammates, and was the one doing most of the pep-talking when they huddled before the floor routines. I'm puzzled at where she might have done something wrong that night, other than not having the same reaction after the floor routines (after they knew they'd secured the Gold) as the ones that actually performed that event.

I get what you're saying, and I agree that her vault "mattered". So does a punt at a crucial time in the superbowl. You can say that if he shanks it, or allows a block, it could cost them the game. But if he booms one over the receiver's head and it rolls out inside the 5, giving his team a chance to pin the other team deep, get the ball back, and go for the winning score, he played a key role. Should the punter be happy and celebrate with his team? Absolutely. Should he be on the stage receiving the lombardi trophy with the QB and Defensive MVP? Probably not.

That a bit of an extreme analogy, but you get the point. The others were "all around gymnasts". She was there as a vault specialist.

The main focus of NBC and the media since opening ceremonies was about the two girls that were in the running for the all-around Gold. The others were kind of an afterthought.

As far as last night... I still just didn't get a "cunty" vibe from her... just disappointment.

I didn't bring it up here or anywhere else because 1) I thought it was stupid, and like I told him, anyone who acknowledges it, or repeats it is just coming off like THEY saw the connection 2) I didn't want to help spread it. Even without the BLATANT fixed matches, Olympic boxing is judged fucking awful. The next two matches were pretty much the same bullshit. A Cuban kid pretty much got held, tackled and head butted for a whole match only to be warned HIMSELF for doing it all. Meanwhile the Italian is known for his bs tactics, while the Cuban is a technician and wanted zero to do with that. Yet via the awful judging and scoring, the Cuban lost handily. The announcers were pissed the whole time they called boxing while I had it on (3+ matches)...and they were long time lovers of the sport/involved for years. What a joke.
