The men and womens road race were interesting. The breakaway was successful in both cases. For the women I think primarily because it was pouring rain and noone could take turns at speed. And for them men seemingly just out of a lack of planning. None of the teams wanted to lead the charge to pull the breakaway back in and risk bettering their opponants position, so they all lost together.

I also object to calling Michael Phelps the greatest olympian. I feel like he only has so many medals because there are so many swimming events. I think gymnastics is way more varied in its disciplines than swimming.

A company I used to work for bought one of the start-up companies who was trying this with the plastics stuff. They couldn't get it to work cost-effectively, but someone will, and it will completely revolutionize low-end manufacturing. The third-world countries making all the cheap stuff at Wal-Mart, et al. will be replaced with local manufacturers who can make the stuff to order and and have it to you next day.

The process will kill an unbelieveable number of jobs though....
