What it also does is disproportionately effect low income voters like minorities and the elderly who are less likely to maintain a photo ID and more likely to vote democrat. So that's were the debate comes from.

And you do have to prove who you are but you used to be able to use something like a bill that has your address on it, this law makes it so you can only have a state issued photo id with your current address on it.

hey buddays,so i have to go to a weekend alcohol impact class next weekend for the whole weekend cuz florida put a hold on my michigan driving privledges from 2 DUIs i got back in 98,mad and happy to be getting it over with

I dont get carded anymore and I'm only 31, so that's a lot of poor people that conceivably still manage to get booze and cigs without ID. And an expired photo ID would not allow you to vote and I'm assuming you can use it to prove you're over 21. I also dont know if those photo cards you can get from the dvd have your address on them.

The law is going to happen, I think the biggest contention is that it was going in effect too close to this election to be considered fair. It didn't give people enough time to get their IDs.

Thats true, but who the hell wants to go on a voting spree? Also, I imagine that if you start seeing that you have multiple instances of people showing up to vote and their name is already crossed off the registry that somehow that gets reported. If you showed up to vote and they told you "no, you just voted" you might make a stink about it.

this is what I'm wondering. We all have friends who have told us that they don't plan to vote, how hard would it be to get ahold of a light bill and go vote in their place? They'd never know.
It seems like we have to keep lowering the bar to help people who won't meet pretty simple minimum standards. The poor find there way to various assistance offices and provide what ever documentation is required, it's not too much to ask that they have a picture ID to vote.

I have to think that Ron pulls the plug when their contract is over and goes in a different direction but I would have lost money thinking he would have put up with it this long.

It may be that nobody in management wants to do anything while the ownership of the company gets sorted out. (Been thru that meself.) If Liberty takes over it is hard to imagine them handing out a fat new contract to Fez for this product.
