but a weak afc gives them a shot at playoffs
well the defense needs some pass rushers and a corner, but the whole damn O line needs a revamp so it might not be in the cards next year yet...unless 9-7/8-8 have a shot based on your weak afc call. yet how weak with the top four in each division and the likes of so many teams getting better like Indy and Cincy. I don't think it'll be weak at all.
New England/Houston/Balt/Denver as the division favs
cincy/indy/pitt the favs for the WCs too
at this point, SD is on the WC challenger level at best...but needs a lot of help
THANK GOD they have a new coach and so many solid changes in the org. Now just get that stadium and back into the playoffs...next step, consistency.

well they play a bunch of those teams u mentioned so they can help their own cause
but def with Oakland and Kansas City in the division and still rebuilding should help
plus games against jax and Miami
the NFC east is a crap shoot cause except for Philly whose still prolly the weakest in
division the rest could either be really good or suck ass

Goldson and Barron are a scary tandem for any receiver going over the middle. The contract is a little expensive, but it's just the rookie wage scale serving it's purpose. This time next offseason everyone will be screaming about Earl Thomas getting quarterback money in his new deal.

Jets allow Revis to talk to Bucs
The Buccaneers and Jets have come to an agreement on trade compensation for cornerback Darrelle Revis, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported Sunday.

The thing is, though, I have a feeling they would have fucked up any of those players in their incompetent organization if they'd picked them. Especially Aaron Rogers. He wouldn't have been the disaster JaFatass Russell was, but he definitely wouldn't have gotten the quality of coaching -- and the ability to watch Brett Favre in action -- he got in Green Bay.
So, sometimes, I think that these "Look who they passed up" things aren't really a sign that a team would have been good. What would they have done with those picks anyway?

Rodgers sat for three years before starting. When he was a rookie, the league was way too fast for him and playing him would've ruined him. He was probably ready after two years, but that sitting helped him a ton.
And from all reports, Favre didn't do shit to help that process other than to show Rodgers how to turn the ball over.

not true
the earlier picked have the best odds of playing the most NFL games and being an all-pro and HOF members
i saw an article on the draft in both the NFL and the NHL and the percentages of success based on round selection were very similar
the mlb numbers were slightly less obvious, but still there
sure there are gems late and guys who develop late or are missed, but they are few and far between. usually the later guys are role players at best, and those that exceed their slot, get a TON of press bc it is rare (Brady)

Had a buddy (yes girl buddy) that actually dated Rodgers up there in toyota tundra land...and he had told her this is pretty much true unfortunately, but in the end he took a lot in by just paying attention and being a good student. so while it might not have been a great teacher student relationship, he most certainly did give the guy credit for some of what he learned.

Dion Jordan @ 'half price' saved like 520 draft chart pts, bookend pass rushers suits me, something called for around here a long time.

it was weird with him. For 3 years he looked pretty good. All of a sudden he plays Bama, he looks like he was running with 40 pound shoes on. I think it had alot to do with his mental state though more than his ability. I cant imagine he was in a good place around that time.

Every year I watch the draft, hoping that a West Virginia player that's exciting will be taken.
Bruce Irvin was taken right before the Jets slot.
Tavon Austin was taken right before the Jets slot.
Now we have Geno.
I've watched a lot of Geno's tape.
He makes smart throws. I can honestly see him being Chad Pennington with a stronger arm.
But it also depends on what kind of offense Morningweg installs, all that stuff.
Here's what I hate:
People are acting like the Jets used a #4 pick for this guy. He's a second round pick in a need position. And people are like "LOL Jamarcus Russell". Ugh.

a few problems. One, you take geno smith so that the same coaching staff that didnt do dick to help sanchez can ruin this guy now.

They actually have six QBs. Sanchez, Tebow, Simms, McElroy, Garrard, Smith.
My prediction: Sanchez, Tebow, and Simms are cut. Or they sit down with Tebow and say "it's time to end this dickery" and turn him into the TE they need.

I keep hearing this "Make Tebow into a TE or WR" stuff, but has anyone actually successfully switched positions on the level of the NFL and been truly good in their new position?
It's not like moving from shortstop to 3rd base, or center to forward.

in college he was a QB. What he meant was, name a guy who came to NFL and started his career at a position and then changed to that different of a position. Tons of guys were QBs in college and moved before the NFL. Not many were QBs in the NFL and then moved.
Besides, to do all this wonderful offensive stuff, you need a coach who actually gives a shit about offense.

i have to admit, I was thinking the same exact way for SD and both qbs are from the same draft
it's never a bad thing to have a good prospect behind your starter...for both backup duties in case of injury and who knows, if you build his stock enough you could always move him to Oakland for plenty...or even look at Kolb. When guys like this drop so far you almost HAVE to think about it. While he's not sure thing, he's not scrub either. Plenty of upside.

Let's be honest, Tebow should have switched positions years ago when coming into the NFL. As many stated, he is very tough to bring down and used as a Jay Novacek meets Daryl Johnston type player...at least in how Tebow can be attempted to be used. Of course he's nowhere close to those players at this point.

As far as I know Tebow has only played QB in collage. And the players that come to mind that have switched successfully have had collage experience in the other positions they have switched to / from.
I joked about Jets / Geno but that was how Ryan Tannehill got to start (trail by fire ) sometimes it can be a good thing. Even more so if the rookie comes from the same system the new coach is running.

Honestly, no idea. Your coach is more of a wild card than any draft pick.
Barkley wasn't a bad pick. Hopefully Kelly lets him sit for a year or two so he can learn a bit.

Once again, I reject your premise that the Giants trading up is any different than any other team. GM's obviously trade up when they target a player. Some of the moves will work, others will fail.
Unless you present some kind of quantitative data proving otherwise, your GM's draft plan isn't really that special.

NE will actually use Tebow for his strengths like the Jets only said they would. BB will just get the starting qb thing out of Tebow's head and tell him to embrace his true self...and that goes personal life probably too, and become a utility role player on the offense and at times very Woodhead like.
Teo is doing great in SD thus far too. It seems the landing place for him has been big, as they all but took him out of the news and had an immediate Teo blackout with the press. Makes some sense too, just the real test comes when the NFL is more in the spotlight I guess. So far so good.

I think he makes a great point. Its not just about being able to say a word but not letting other people say it. He brought up a great fact that every one of these "outraged" players in private have said the same shit about other races yet are gonna judge Cooper. And hes right. Look at Hugh Douglas. First one to hit Twitter, thanking Riley Cooper for saying what he did, because "Now we know". Less than a week later he gets drunk and starts calling Michael Smith a House nigger and an uncle Tom in front of a bunch of co-workers.
Then Peyton Hillis comes out and exxplains in an interview how every single team hes played against, the defenders have trash talked him about his race. Giving all kinds of examples. In that article I read the author claimedhe was being "too sensitive to normal trash talk". I just read a fucking article on ESPN saying despite the fact Hillis eschews racism, its hard to argue the fact that white guys dont have a history of being good runningbacks!!! Meanwhile, bring up the fact theres been 1 black Super Bowl winning QB, and all of a sudden your the Grand Wizard, right?
Its about time somebody with a voice stood up and said what needed to be said, I just never in a million years thought itd be Deion Sanders.

Bottom line, Cooper was being a fucking bitch bc he wasn't getting his way simply bc he' catches footballs. He did so in shitty, racist fashion regardless of your take on a or any word, and it was targeted. All the other back and forth has little bearing, the guy was and sounds like a typical jock asshole was some good ole boy race baiting anger sprinkled in. Sure other have issues, others play racial line games and it can be against us too (white guys), but NOT the point here.

That is the point. Alot of people are sick of the double standard. I dont give a fuck what Riley Cooper says or does. But if you agree he should be fired for it, then Desean Jackson should be fired for going on Sirius 2 weeks earlier and calling a caller a faggot. Im not defending Cooper. The guys a dick.
