Rollins had a funny bit about women walking by construction sites and shooting a cat caller off of the 20th story with a .357, thus shutting up the rest of the savages.

Yep...he's a carbon copy of my father-in-law. Hated doctors - was in fact scared of doctors - than had a heart attack and was in the hospital for 100 days (being 5'4" 240 lbs. at the time didn't help). Now, he's scared of the world UNLESS his doctor reassures him that it's okay. It's a security blanket.

You will also find plenty of punk bands that will talk about how much they hated CBGB. CBGB was what it was in the late 70s and early 80s but it hasn't been that for years. And there are plenty of other venues in New York and everywhere else that have as much history as CBGB that close with no ceremony. All things must end, some things should've ended sooner, and new things will always come up behind them. That's just the way music should be.

And as a guy that still follows punk and grew up with it I'm sure if I went to that exhibit I'd be all annoyed and laugh at the corny stuff there, but really it's not The Mets place to document punk and ofcourse they're not going to do a good job of it. It's not for the punks or by the punks, so the punks shouldn't go there and be mad. This has always been an oral history and that's the only way you're going to get the authentic history of it.

Yes, many many years. I have more of a problem seeing expensively distressed clothes that are totally taken style wise from punk selling at Lord & Taylor because it's antithetical to the basic tennants of that culture.

Last year I wandered over to Sotheby's when a buddy told me they were having a viewing of punk artifacts that were going to be auctioned off. It was definitely cringey but in an enjoyable way. There was an interesting mix of people - those who looked like they were there at the beginning of the scene (and whose stuff was probably being sold) and the big money playas who wandered into the suite out of curiousity or by mistake. The two pieces I recall were a Sears bass guiter that Kurt Cobain owned as a kid and a photograph of a very young, chubby and nude Belinda Carlisle from The Germs era.

I think if you insert yourself into the game by shoving your finger in an ejected players face in front of cameras then yeah, you've made yourself a public figure. If she was just sitting in the front row, or cheering the ejection, no one would have put her picture up on the internet and talked about how she was suspected of murder at one point.

Tebow should have never been a QB at Florida? Complete nonsense. He had one of the best careers of any college QB ever. It's not Florida's job to make sure he's playing in a position where he can transition to the NFL easily.

Falcons play 49ers & Seahawks both running QB teams, Tebow could make a good practice squad QB to keep the team ready.

Ron's analogy with a CF makes sense, except it's like a SP who wanted to pitch but the team wanted him to play LF. They don't have to do what the player wants but he's not a head case for wanting to pitch.
