The NSA thing you can see people dont know how to react to it because it's bipartisan, so right wingers cant say "thanks Obama..." and vice versa.
I dont like when they say "oh, we did such and such with this info" but dont disclose details so you can decide if it's worthwhile. Like torture, where some people say they mine quality data from it and other people say it never yields anything useful.

I dont think that caller is thinking of the first White Stripes album.
This weekend Sears Hardware had a sale and had a high school surf rock trio playing out front. Unfortunately they were just wrapping up when I got there.

Federer is the GOAT and Nadal will be an all-time great as well when he's finished. Their dominance/rivalry has been historic. They were ranked #1 and #2 in the world for 5 straight years.

Someones got a case of the Mondays. Even when I get good sleep on a Sunday night, I feel like I didn't sleep.
I know people point to the prison industrial complex for drug laws, but I think it discounts how puritan peoples attitudes are.
Also, legal drugs do not equal corporate drug production. What we do need is a drug court and decriminalization.
realmenhatelife
06-10-2013, 09:16 AM
This drives me nuts. Drug users like Hicks saying things like "look at whats happening in mexico..." and putting the onus of that on the war on drugs. Those people are dying so you can snort coke and molly, Hicks. If you didn't buy it they wouldn't try to import it. You dont get coke from old hippies in Northern California, it's a morally bankrupt activity.

There seems to be confusion between legalizing drugs and the government going into the illicit drug business.

Hicks was advocating legalizing all kinds of drugs and Pit Doc called in and "pit bulled" him on the adverse consequences it would have on the people who tried them and couldn't handle the downsides (OD's and the like.) Not sure I agree entirely with Pit Doc but he did back Hicks up and (figuratively) drop him with some haymakers in a very entertaining fashion.

Its more personal experience, I've never met anyone who home schooled that wasn't a little crazy/religious/tea partier. Like they home schooled as a form of indoctrination.
I think the commitment must also be so huge, bigger than one or two people can handle for 12 years.
I guess if you own a ranch or soemthing and it just makes more sense to teach that kid how to run a ranch every day it makes more sense. But like getting home schooled where I'm at seems like the parents are nuts.

Under the terms of the agreement, Johnson’s probation would have been extended to December 21, and he would have performed 25 hours of community service.
“You better thank your lawyer. He did a great job for you,” Broward Circuit Court Judge Kathleen McHugh told Johnson after accepting the agreement.
Johnson responded by slapping attorney Adam Swickle on the butt. Which prompted the judge to call the whole thing off.
She believed Johnson wasn’t taking the situation seriously, so she rejected the plea deal and sentenced him to 30 days in jail.

All the kids that switched from Catholic to public school in 9th grade didn't fit in either. I dont think it has anything to do with home school.
I'm not against alternative whatever, but I also see how small groups like this really insulate against other ideas and that's what I'm afraid of. Like my friend who did a home birth all of a sudden has people telling her not to get her baby immunized. Like telling her "my kid is diabetic because I got him shots as a baby, dont make the same mistake."

That he'd home school his kid.
Mainly because he's afraid of sending his child to school, which isn't surprising.

Sorry about that, but I'm the guy that gets all the BAD things that would come legalizing hard drugs . Bad enough dealing with ODs , but until you've one of three guys hanging off a 6'5" behemoth who's whacked on angel dust and wants to kill everybody around him , you're DREAMING that legalizing all drugs is a good thing
Of course, two other things...
1. It's corrupt DOCTORS who are the major pushers these days.I recommend you see "The Oxycontin Express" on Current TV to see what I'm talking about .
2. The cartels would be worse if we legalized drugs? Remember, they're down there cutting heads off in order to provide AMERICANS with all their dope.Legalizing it would probably make it WORSE ( Except maybe for pot; I don't have a problem with that, as long as you schmucks don't light up in restaraunts/bars) .
